GospeL Verses ~ John 2:13-25
13 - Soon it would be Passover and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple he found those who were buying and selling, and the money-changers sitting at tables. 15 Making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple! Along with the sheep and oxen that were being sold, and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16 He told those selling pigeons, “Take these things away! Don’t make my Father's house a house of merchandise!” 17 His disciples, seeing this, were reminded of how it was written, “I will be filled with zeal for your house.” 18 So the leaders and those doing business said, “What sign will you show us, that you have authority to do these things?” 19 Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 They then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple! And you will raise it up in three days?!” 21 But he was speaking of his own self and body. 22 Later when he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and what he had said. 23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in him when they saw the miracles he was working. 24 But Jesus on his part didn’t entrust himself to them. 25 He didn’t need anyone to tell him what people (mankind) can be like, for he already knew that.

From New Testament Letters
(In the Order Believed Written)
~ 2 Corinthians 10:7-18
7 - Look at what is before your eyes. (Real good advice for prophecy too.) If anyone is confident that they are Christ's followers, let them not forget that we are as well. 8 For even if I do seem to act the authority, which the Lord gave for building you up - not for tearing you down. So I’m not ashamed of that authority. 9 I don’t mean to be frightening you with my letters. 10 Yet someone will say, “His letters are heavy and forceful, but his presence is weak! And his speech of no account.” 11 Let such understand that what we say by letter, we mean when in person as well. 12 Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending theirselves. For if we approve ourselves by competing among ourselves, it shows a lack of understanding. 13 For we can only have confidence in that which God has assigned to each one of us, a confidence however that spreads. (Like ripples in a pond?) 14 We were the first to come all the way to you with the gospel of Christ. 15 And we mustn’t boast in the labors of others as though they are our own. (Which some had come to Corinth and were doing?) But our hope is that as your faith grows, so will our scope of influence, 16 that we may preach the message (gospel/good news) in lands beyond you, without claiming the work done already by others. 17 “Let the one who boasts, boast about the Lord!” 18 For it doesn’t matter who may boast on their own behalf, but it’s the Lord’s approval that matters.
