GospeL Verses ~ John 1:19-28
19 - The leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask John (the baptizer) who he was. 20 He freely confessed, “I am not the Messiah.” 21 So they asked him again, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “No.” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No, I am not.” 22 Finally they said, “But who are you? Give us an answer we can take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” 23 John answered by quoting Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord!’” 24 The Pharisees who had been sent 25 continued to question him further, “Why do you baptize if you’re not the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet?” 26 “I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you is one you don’t know. 27 He is the one who comes after me. I am not worthy to untie his sandals!” 28 This was at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

(In the Order Believed Written)
~ 2 Corinthians 8:15-24
15 - As it is written, “Whoever gathered much had nothing left over. And whoever gathered little had no lack.” 16 And thankfully to God, he put into the heart of Titus the same earnest care which I myself have for you. 17 For he not only accepted our appeal, but being sincere and enthusiastic, he is coming to you of his own choice. 18 And along with him we are sending the brother (Luke, Apollo, Barnabas, Silas, Mark?) who is famous among all the churches for his proclaiming of the gospel. 19 And not only that, but He was appointed by the churches to accompany us as we take the offering to Jerusalem, a service that makes known the Lord and is evidence of our eagerness to help. 20 We are doing it this way so no one can cast blame about this generous gift we are delivering. 21 For we aim for what is honorable in the Lord's sight and also in the sight of others. 22 We are sending the brother who has proven many times his genuineness and zeal, and because of his great confidence in you! (Apollo had spent time in Corinth.) 23 As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker, and we work together to benefit you. And our brothers we are sending are apostles of the churches, to the glory of Christ. 24 Therefor the proof of your love and our boasting about you will be shown in sight of the churches. (Who likely, it seems? had heard about the alarming problems the Corinthian believers had been having.)
