paraphrased ‘enter the story’

10 - It was a Sabbath and Jesus was speaking in one of the Hebrew/Jewish meeting places. 11 He saw a woman there with a disabling spirit she had for eighteen years. She was bent over and couldn’t straighten herself up. 12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Woman! You are freed from your disability.” 13 Then he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made well, and she glorified God. 14 But the leader/authority of the meeting place, became indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath.
So the public servant said to the people, “There are six days in which work should to be done. Come on those days and be healed, but not on the Sabbath!”
15 But Jesus said to him, “You’re being false. Don’t all of you - on the Sabbath - untie his ox or donkey from the manger, and lead it to water? 16 And ought not this woman - a daughter of Abraham (your own national sister) whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, be loosed on the Sabbath?”
17 As he said this, those who were against him were put to shame, while the people rejoiced at the glorious things that were being done by him. {Why does “the state” (the establishment of any certain time) hate Jesus? …does it hate the people?}
