1 - Paul then came to Derbe and Lystra, and there was a disciple there named Timothy, the son of a faithful Jewish mother and a Greek father. 2 Timothy was spoken well of by the Lystra and Iconium believers. 3 And Paul wanted Timothy to travel with them (likely to take Mark’s place?) so he had him circumcised for in those parts they knew he had a Greek father (unlike Titus who was fully Greek and no one expected him to be circumcised). 4 Then they went from town to town, giving to the believers the decisions the apostles and elders in Jerusalem had made (concerning gentile believers in Jesus). 5 So the faith of the churches was strengthened, and increased in number daily. 6 Later the Holy Spirit prevented them from speaking the word in the province of Asia, so they traveled on through the region of Phrygia and Galatia. 7 Then after coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to enter. 8 So they passed by Mysia and went down to the seaport of Troas. 9 While “we” were there (Luke, author of Acts, is now with them) during the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia asking him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” 10 So we left for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there. 11 From Troas we put out to sea and sailed straight across to the island of Samothrace, next day landing at Neapolis. 12 From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and one of the major cities of the district of Macedonia, and we stayed there for some days. 13 On the Sabbath we went outside the city to the river, where we thought there might be a place of prayer. Once there we sat down and spoke to the women gathered there. 14 One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a seller of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she believed what Paul was saying. 15 She and her household were baptized, and she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And so we did. 16 One day when we were going to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who earned a lot of money for those  ‘owning’ her, by telling fortunes. 17 She followed Paul and us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God! They are proclaiming to you the way of salvation!” [Sรณtรฉria - deliverance, welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation, out of destruction into safety.] 18 This continued for many days, until Paul, annoyed, turned and said to the demon, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly the spirit left her. 19 When her owners realized that their means of making money from her was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them to the marketplace before the leaders of the city.

     Very Brief Outline of Acts:

Jesus returns to where he was with the Father before his advent/visit (his brief first one).

The Holy Spirit/Presence of God is poured out on the believers who were in Jerusalem on the late Spring holy day of Pentecost. Peter speaks, there are 3000 new believers that day.

The good news message spreads, Peter is invited and goes to a Roman’s house and all believe. The first record of non Hebrew believers (besides likely some on Pentecost).

Persecution breaks out.. jail. stoning. Pharisee Saul leads the persecution, but on his way to Damascus with papers for arrests, Jesus makes himself seen but is so bright Paul falls to the ground and is blinded. After two days he is healed and is a believer, and soon is called Paul. He wrote many (to most) of the New Testament letters, but spent a few years (it seems to me) exclusively listening to the Lord. He established many ‘churches’ in what’s called three missionary journeys, and met and worked with Mark and Luke, and quite a few others. (Luke wrote this Book of Acts.) His fourth journey is to Rome to trial as a prisoner. There’s a shipwreck on the way.. He wrote many of his letters while in prison and under ‘house’ arrest.

12 “Truly, truly” Jesus said, “of a truth, I tell you, the one believing in me, the works that I do, they shall do also. And greater than these even, for I am going to the Father. 13 And whatever you might ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father will be glorified in the Son.”

     {It’s SO good to know not one shall ever be ‘lost’. We know this because God “is Perfect” (Mt.5:48).This world is dragging people down. It’s burden is getting very heavy. Yes we all were lost ..Israel is the mini version.. “you wandered from Me” World is the macro version.  “I will call you back to myself..” The false castles are certainly bound to fall. But not one soul (living being) will be lost. Ultimately a ReGenesis.. I’m thinking a very large planet.. “The lion will eat straw like the ox.”}

14 (14:14) “If you ask anything of me, in the name of me, I will do it. 15 If you love me, you will follow my instructions. 16 And I will ask the Father and he will send you another helper (another aid?) [paraklรฉtos - called to one's aid, from parรก - "from close-beside" and kalรฉล - "make a call") – properly, a legal advocate who makes the right judgment call because close enough to the situation]. (God’s Spirit/Presence with us!) 17 The Spirit of Truth which the world is not able to receive because it doesn’t see nor know him. But you know him, for he abides with you and will be in you, 18 (and) is coming to you. For you will not be left as orphans. 19 (When) in yet a little while the world will no longer see me, but you shall see me! And because I live, you also will live! 20 In that day you will know that I am in my father, and you in me, and I in you. (๐Ÿค” There’s the dispute - is the scripture meant to speak to all of us? Or only the audience at the time? “In that day” is a strange phrase to use when what you’re referring to is just a few days away. “In that day” is the Father’s prophecy introduction phrase used by the prophets.) 21 Whoever has my instructions and keeps them, are the ones who love me. And whoever loves me, will be loved by the Father. And I also will love them, and will reveal myself to them.

(Answers to some accusers.) 1 - Am I (Paul, former Pharisee) not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are not you the result of my work in the Lord? 2 Even if others may think I’m not an apostle, surely I am to you? As you yourselves are evidence that I am the Lord’s apostle. 3 This is my defense to those cross examining me. 4 Have we no right to food and drink? 5 Don’t we have the right to bring our wife with us as the other apostles do?  And as the Lord’s brothers do, and Peter does? 6 Or is it Barnabas and I only who have to work to support ourselves? 7 Does a soldier have to pay his own expenses? What farmer plants a vineyard and but has no right to eat of its fruit? What shepherd cares for a flock of sheep but isn’t allowed to drink some of the milk? 8 Do I say this only from a human point of view? Or does the law say this as well? 9 For the law of Moses says, “Do not muzzle an ox to keep it from eating the grain as it works.” Was God only thinking about oxen when he said this? 10 But is he not also speaking to us and for our benefit? For whoever plows and threshes, surely should do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest. 11 We have sown very beneficial seed among you. Should we be criticized if you share with us some of its fruitful benefits?

22 Then the apostles and elders, with the rest of the believers, decided to choose some of their own men and send them back to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers. 23 And with them they sent a letter saying, “The apostles and elders, your brothers, To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia: Greetings. 24 We have heard some men - which we did not send - have come to you and have troubled and upset you with their teaching. 25 So we met together and decided to choose some men to send to you along with our good brothers Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus. 27 So we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what it is we are writing. 28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, not to burden you with rules and requirements more than to 29 abstain from food sacrificed to idols, (which was part of gentile worship of other ‘gods’) and from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from all sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.” 30 So the men were sent off to Antioch where they called the believers/followers together and gave them the letter. 31 The people read it and were happy for the encouraging message. 32 Judas and Silas, teachers and prophets, spoke for some time, encouraging and strengthening the faith of the believers. 33 They stayed for a while and then the believers sent them on their way, with their blessing, back to Jerusalem, 34 except for Silas, who decided to stay longer. 35 And Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, where they and many others were speaking and teaching the word/message of the Lord. 36 Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us return and visit the brothers in every city where we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing.” 37 Barnabas agreed, but he wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 But last time Mark had quit and turned back early on in the travels, so Paul didn’t think it was a good idea. 39 Paul and Barnabas’ disagreement became so sharp they parted company. Barnabas and Mark sailed to Cyprus. 40 And after the believers had entrusted them to the Lord's care, Paul and Silas left, 41 traveling through Syria and Cilicia encouraging the churches.

8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it burned people with its heat. 9 People were scorched and cursed the name of God who had [greek “echo” - holds] the power [epi - on, upon] the plagues [plรฉgรฉ - blow(s), wound(s)]. But they did not change their minds, nor give God glory. [Change mind - metanoรฉล - from metรก - changed after being with, and noiรฉล - think; repent, think differently afterwards.] 10 And the fifth angel poured out his bowl upon the seat [thronos] of the beast (of the large many headed geopolitical beast of its time, as history does repeat). And his kingdom was plunged into darkness, and they gnawed their tongues in distress. (I had to consult a commentary for this phrase “gnawed their tongues” and “Barnes” Commentary said this — The word rendered here "gnawed" does not occur elsewhere in the New Testament, nor is the expression elsewhere used in the Bible, but its meaning is plain - it indicates deep anguish. And elsewhere -  “Take heed,” Jesus said, “that the light that is in you isn’t darkness.”) 11 And they cursed the God of heaven because of their distress, and their sores. But they did not repent of their works [ergon - work, task, employment, deeds, actions, that which is wrought or made, from ergo - to work, accomplish, รฉrgon ("work") is a deed (action) that carries out (completes) an inner desire, intention, purpose].

12 And the sixth angel poured out his bowl upon the great river Euphrates, and it was completely dried up, making way for the kings from the rising of the sun. 13 And coming out of the mouth of the dragon (the adversary, first named Lucifer, then Satan) and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet (white robed magician with a getting old “strong” concoction/“delusion” who has “miracles” and modern wonders, and a prophecy it puts forth) what I [John] saw, was three unclean spirits like frogs (very distasteful? but intoxicating? “Coming out of their mouths.”) 14 They are the spirits of demons performing [poieรณ - making, doing, manufacturing, constructing] signs [sรฉmeion - miracles, indications, marks, tokens, signs] which spirits go forth to the kings of earth to gather them together to the battle of the great day of God the Almighty. (Great Day of the LORD? — which proceeds from 2Pet.3:10 to 2Pet.3:12-13?/1Cor.15:24,28.)

15 ..(Rev.1:1 - “This vision is what God showed to Jesus, so he could tell his servants what must happen. And Jesus sent his angel with the message to his servant John.”) Back to (16:)15 - “Behold I am coming like a thief does, happy are those watching and keeping their garments, lest they walk unclothed and the shame of them be seen.” 16 And they were gathered together to the place which in Hebrew, is called Armageddon. 9 But be careful, that your liberty to eat certain foods, doesn’t cause a brother or sister to stumble. 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you eating in an idol’s temple, won’t they be encouraged to violate their conscience by eating food that has been offered to an idol? 11 So this weaker one, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your liberty. 12 And if you wound their conscience when it is weak in the matter, you sin against Christ. 13 So if what I eat causes another to stumble, I’ll not eat meat again as long as I live! In case I cause a brother or sister to stumble.

         John 13:1-20

1 - It was just before Passover Festival, and Jesus knew the time had come for him to leave this world, and go to the Father. He loved those of this world who followed him, and he loved them to the end. 2 The twelve were having supper, and the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him. 3 Jesus knew the Father had given him authority over all things and he knew he had come from God and was going back to God. (But he would miss walking and talking with his followers. Yes?) 4 So Jesus got up from the meal, took off his outer garment, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 Then he poured some water into a basin and began to wash the disciples feet and dry them with the towel. (It was a custom to sometimes offer a visitor some water to wash their tired and dusty feet, if they had done much walking.) 6 When he came to Peter, he said, “Lord! Are you going to wash my feet?” 7 You don’t understand what I’m doing, but you will! 8 But Peter said, “No Lord, you cannot wash my feet!” But Jesus said, “Unless I do you are not part of this.” 9 “Well then!” Simon Peter said, not just my feet! But my hands and head as well!” 10 (Smiling to himself?) Jesus replied, “Whoever has bathed, needs only to refresh his feet. For you are clean. Excepting one.” 11 He said this because he knew who was going to betray him. 12 When he was done he put his robe back on and sat back down. Then he said, “Do you know what it is I have just done? 13 You call me teacher and Lord, and you are right, that is what I am. 14 If I, your teacher and Lord, wash your feet, how much more should you all care and look out for one another? 15 I gave this as a pattern, that you should do as I do. (๐Ÿค” Patterns within patterns.. We should follow his pattern in all things, especially attitude, which is *the* foundation, the cause of the effect, of all the rest. One ruLe. Love God ..from the heart.. heart and mind. “Seek, ask, knock”. God is (more) life, love, light and laughter, a river of Life! He is Life, the life force, intelligence.. unfettered genius. He and what he is creating is supremely better than we have ever been led to believe. But how do you create genuinely able to think and reason beings, aNd keep paradise/perfection intact?? ..Did God have basically two choices for creation? An ant farm, or let things run course to herd immunity..? Having engineered it so “all in heaven and earth” take this unavoidable journey/lesson, all together at once?) 15 .. “I gave this as a pattern..” (of humility, genuine affection, service).

16 “The disciple is not greater than the master” (and never will be!) “nor a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 You are blessed if you know these things and do them. 18 I don’t mean all of you, I know who I have chosen, but so the scripture be fulfilled, ‘he who eats my bread has lifted up his heel against me’. (Patterns within patterns.. lucifer/satan, serpent, Judas. Originally was yes, a big bang - of patterns ..But into the universe like a clock not yet running..) [The quote “ate my bread/enjoyed my hospitality and friendship.. lifted up his heel” (like a horse that kicks the one who fed him) is a reference to the promise (and prophecy) spoken in Eden, in Genesis chapter three.]

19 I’m telling you what’s going to happen, so that when it does happen, you will know that I am who I say I am. 20 Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who receives someone I send, receives me. And the one who receives me [Greek, lambanรณ - to take, actively lay hold of, accepting what is available/offered] receives he who sent me.”

    ~ 1 Corinthians 8:1-8 ~

1 - Now regarding your question about food that has been offered to idols. Yes, we know that “we all have knowledge” about this. But while knowledge builds our own self up, it is love that strengthens a group of believers. 2 And someone who thinks they know all things, doesn’t really know all that much. 3 But whoever loves God, is known by God. 4 So, what about eating meat that was offered to idols? We all know that an idol is not really a god. And that there is only the one God. 5 For even if there are so-called gods, as is believed, many ‘gods’ and ‘lords’ in the heavens and upon earth, 6 yet to us there is one god, the Father from whom are all things and for whom we exist. And one Lord, the Lord Jesus, through whom are all things, and through whom, we exist. (“In the beginning God”.. then “the only begotten” only straight out from God one, the Son.. “Let us make mankind in ouR likeness” ..but first the angels.. a great number.. and the universe.. all created with and through the Son, who is under God, “head of all” things. God to be the pattern, the fabric, the rich tapestry of life. Through and through. “The lion will eat straw like the ox. The bear will graze with the cow, their young will pasture, romp and play and lie down together” Isaiah 11:7.)

7 But not everyone knows this. Some people are so used to the false gods they believe they are eating food offered to a false god. And so they feel guilty, and are wounded. 8 But what we eat, or don’t eat, doesn’t earn us points with God. (His friendship is a Gift.) (As is his benevolence, through Jesus, not because we are better, or lesser than, any other. And a guilty conscience blocks our reception of him, and blessings. Which is why our guilty conscience had to be appeased - or we would forever sabotage ourself. Forever shrink and try to hide from God, our heavenly father. This appeasing, makes sense of the verse, that if as a follower, we continue in a practice of sin, there is no further appeasement. From our point of view, for “God is savior of aLL” and Jesus “will draw aLL to himself” - 1Tim.4:10, Jn.12:32. And also, no further appeasement/sacrifice” if continued, unto the great ‘day’ of judgment. Rather than serving, called reigning - doing the works of Jesus, after all - during “the” millennium, and during that great review/judgment of all history ‘day’ which is not until “aFter the thousand years”. — Then after the Great White Throne ‘day’ of judgment, called an aionios/eonian/an-age-of kolasin/korrection/correction - which phrase has been translated, by humans/authority figures? into ‘never-ending punishment’๐Ÿคฏ …A biG ๐Ÿ—️ to the scriptures? -> Logic, root word “Logos” - “reasoning expressed in words”. True reasoning. And Jesus too, is called the “logos”. Truth. Truth expressed in words, and in Jesus. (An issue of “and” not the “or” many are falling for.) Only what is of truth can endure and remain standing. (So, Rev.7:9,4 during 1,3 which 1,3 is sure to be interrupted in some form before too terribly long.. then a ‘peace’, then broken with guess who? And 3.5 stressful years. Math problem - Daniel 12:11-12; 9:27-week is a week of years.)

17 Jesus took a cup of wine in his hands, gave thanks to God, and said to the disciples, “Take this and pass it among yourselves. 18 For I tell you I will not drink from the fruit of the vine again, until the kingdom of God has come.” 19 He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it, broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance [anamnรฉsis - from anamimnแธ—skล - to bring to mind, deliberate recollection, self-prompted recollection including as a memorial, in memory] of me.”

       (daily ๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿž➕๐Ÿท๐Ÿ•Š️)

Here at the monastery (member one, lol) we strive to “keep sabbath”/Quiet time with God’s Spirit/Presence and the scripture - and the Lord Jesus is there too - in the morning for as long as possible. With an afternoon and an evening “moments” for prayer, thanksgiving, reading, listening ..the modern “sacrifices”. This is a formula! Very good for healing, and will keep our ship on course - 3x4 - 3 times daily within God’s wondrous 4 seasons, a schedule the Lord gave me many years ago ..I was sitting on a bench ‘here at the monastery’ under some plum trees and grape vines..

20 Then after supper he took another cup of wine in his hands, and said, “This cup is the new covenant which is sealed by my blood, and is being poured out for you.” [A blood oath. A promise sealed in blood. There is no stronger oath. How can we not “believe”? And thus “receive”.]

21 “But behold, the hand of he who betrays me, is with me at the table. ..22 The Son of Man will go as it has been determined and decreed. But what sorrow is awaiting the one who betrays him.” (Imagine what sorrow! What heart wrenching remorse. Including much later, which will seem like but a moment, when then in the bright radiance of God and Jesus’ presence.] 23 And the disciples began to question among theirselves which of them would do such a thing. (The one “who kept the money bag”.)

   ~ 1 Corinthians 7:32-40 ~

The Corinthian believers had written to Paul with certain questions about marriage. His response continued —  I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried person is concerned with the Lord’s works, how they can best please the Lord. And how to best be devoted to him in both life and spirit. But the married person is anxious about worldly things, how to please the other (32-34). 35 I am only saying this for your own benefit. Not to restrict you! But that you may have undivided devotion to the Lord. 36 But if someone thinks they are not behaving properly toward their betrothed (engaged) and passions are strong, they should marry. It is no sin. 37 But if they have decided firmly in their heart not to marry, and there be no urgency and able to control the passions, they do well not to marry. [“Especially considering the late hour” Israel and the age was at.] 38 So the person who marries does well, and the person who doesn’t marry does even better. 39 They are bound to each other as long as they live. But if one dies, they are free to marry again, to another who belongs to the Lord. 40 But in my opinion it would be better to stay single. And I think I am giving you counsel from God’s Spirit/Presence when I say this. (In his prophecy, Jesus had said to pray their fleeing was not in winter, and woe to those with child or nursing little ones.)

24 Each of you, dear brothers and sisters, should abide with God as you were when God first called you. 25 Now regarding your question about the young women who are not yet married. I don’t have a command from the Lord about it, but the Lord in his grace has given me what I trust is wisdom, and I will share it with you. 26 Especially because of the present distress, I think it is best to remain as you are, 27 married, stay married, but if not married, don’t seek to be married. 28 But it is fine if you, or the young women do marry. It is not wrong to do so. I only hope to spare you additional trouble in these days. (Christians were not popular, and were persecuted.. canceled.. dragged through courts.. thrown in jail and worse. And Rome - whose strength was like iron - was frustrated with Israel, 70 a.d. was looming.) 29 But let me say this, dear brothers and sisters, the time is short. Don’t be overly distracted by your own personal lives. 30 Those who mourn, or those who rejoice, or who buy things, should not be absorbed by whatever it is. 31 As to using things of this world, be as if not dependent on them, for this world as it is, is passing away.

          Luke 22:7-16

7 The Festival of Unleavened Bread arrived, when the Passover lamb is sacrificed. (Passover, is at the first month, Nisan’s, full moon. Which months begin with the new moon, so Passover is on Nisan (or Abib) 14. And the next day, the 15th, is “First Day (of seven days) of Unleavened Bread” - Leviticus 23, Exodus 12. The entire ‘week’ has become called both Passover and Unleavened Bread. And the days are called interchangeably as well. Days begin at sunset, rather than at midnight. This all veils HOW perfectly the Lord’s first, brief advent fulfilled the Spring holy days, of Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Firstfruits. He also fulfilled the regular weekly Sabbath of “no work”/earning, for in Christ, redemption from the death sentence/result, is a Gift to be received, and thus does death’s hold pass us over.) 8 Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.” 9 “Where?” they asked. 10 “As you enter the city” he said, “you will meet a man carrying a jar of water. Follow him to the house that he enters. 11 And say to the master of the house, ‘The teacher asks where is the guest room where I can eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 12 And he will show you to a large upper room all furnished, that’s where to prepare. 13 So they went and they found it all as he had said, and they prepared the Passover. (I think I read once the Pharisees and Sadducees ate the Passover on different evenings, but I’m not sure, yet this is what I’ve believed for a while now, and Jesus knowing his imminent arrest, kept Passover on the earlier, even if inaccurate, option.๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผ‍♀️ John’s account clearly shows Jesus had died before the Passover meal was eaten. He was THE passover lamb, for all generations and time. Christ crucified, ultimately strong enough to appease every guilty, tormented conscience and psyche.) 14 Later, when he and the disciples were reclined at table, 15 he said, “I have greatly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 I tell you that I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

8 Let me say this to the unmarried and widows, it is good to remain single, even as I am. 9 But if they don’t have self control, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. 10 And those who are married, I give this instruction, which is from the Lord, they should stay married. 11 But if they are separated, they should remain single or return to one another. (Jesus said divorce for adultery was lawful. Though of course if forgiveness and reconciliation is possible.. Also of course no one is required to stay with an abuser. Disputes could be brought to two or three elders..) 12 And now the rest I (Paul) say, on my own, not from the Lord, if a brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she is content to stay married, then stay married. 13 And same with a sister, if she is married to a nonbeliever. 14. For the believer will sanctify the other and the children will be sanctified [hagiรกzล - from hรกgios - holy, to regard as special, sacred, set apart] as well. 15 But if the unbeliever does leave, let it be so. The brother or sister is no longer obligated, for God has called us to live in peace. 16 Do you wives not realize your husband may come to believe because of you? And you husbands, do you not know your wife may become a believer because of you? 17 Each should continue to live in whatever situation the Lord has placed you, and remain as you were when God first called you. This is my instruction in all the churches. 18 For example, if a man is circumcised when called, he should not try to change it. And if he is not circumcised, he should not be circumcised, 19 for whether he is circumcised or not circumcised, doesn’t matter. But what matters is the keeping of God’s commands/instructions. 20 Each one in their calling to which they were called [kalรฉล - to call, summon, a calling; used of God’s inviting all people to receive His gift of salvation with all His blessings that go with it] let them remain in that state. 21 If you are a bond (debt, usury) slave, don’t let it bother you, but if you can secure your freedom, all the better. 22 For in Christ, the slave is free! And the freeman is now a slave to Christ. 23 You were bought with a price! So do not become enslaved to men/man [anthropos].

          Mark 14:10-16

Some parts of readings/studies are repetitive - sometimes giving a different angle on the memory being communicated. The repetitiveness is so all verses are in one of the two, six month reading schedules. I organized them that way to better ‘enter the story’. Which replaced an earlier schedule I received while sitting on a bench under some plum trees interlaced with grapevines. I consider this more of a university schedule, lol. The first was one gospel each season.๐Ÿค“๐ŸŽ‰ Here’s a new way to write the supernatural formula for spiritual success - yes we are saved by Grace plus nothing! But we do get to respond! In whatever degree we want. And I think the Lord gave us a divine and sacred formula on the eve of his crucifixion, to be deciphered spiritually - ๐Ÿž➕๐Ÿท๐ŸŸฐ⛲️๐Ÿ•Š️

10 - And Judas - one of the twelve - Iscariot, went to the leader [archiereus - chief priest, pre-eminent one, from archo and hierreus, high priest] in order to betray Jesus to him. 11 Which made the high priest happy, and he promised to pay him. So Judas began looking for an opportune time to hand him over.

12 And on the first day of unleavening (the house - thoroughly search out and throw out all leavening, all leavened foods, vacuuming, etc. for any crumbs) day before the Passover Lamb is sacrificed, the disciples asked, “Where should we go to prepare for eating the Passover? 13 He told two of the disciples, “Go into the city, and you will see a man carrying a pitcher of water, follow him, 14 and whichever house he enters, say to the owner, ‘The teacher asks, where is the guest room where I can eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 15 He will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared. There make ready for us.” 16 So they went and they found everything as he said, and they prepared the Passover.

There is dispute whether the Last Supper was a Passover feast - John’s gospel very much says no, Jesus wAs the Passover Lamb. Died right at the hour of sacrifice of the Passover lambs, which was done at the hour of the “daily sacrifice” — however in prophecy, this may well be a “perpetual” modern “sacrifices” of prayer, etc. (Dn.12:11)๐Ÿค“ — I tend to side with John’s account. Also to consider, he was there. But Mark likely wasn’t as much so, if at all. He is first mentioned in Acts as a son of a believer, and later in Acts as secretary to Paul and others. He likely wrote his gospel account by interviews(?) But my biggest reason, is summarized in an image I will post below.

From the Contemporary English Version and not at all paraphrased — 1 - Now I will answer the questions you asked in your letter. You asked, "Is it best for people not to marry?" 2 Well, having your own husband or wife should keep you from doing something immoral. 3 Husbands and wives should be fair with each other about having sex. 4 A wife belongs to her husband instead of to herself, and a husband belongs to his wife instead of to himself. 5 So don't refuse sex to each other, unless you agree not to have sex for a little while, in order to spend time in prayer. Then Satan won't be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6 In my opinion that is what should be done, though I don't know of anything the Lord said about this matter. 7 I wish all of you were like me, but God has given different gifts to each of us.

         John 12:37-50

37 After all the signs he had done before them, and they still didn’t believe in Him! 38 This was so the words of Isaiah the prophet would come true, which said, “LORD, who has believed our report? To whom has the arm (might?) of the LORD been revealed? 39 (It’s) Because of this they could not believe, for Isaiah also said, 40 “He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, so they cannot see and understand, and turn and be healed.” (The message has to go to all the nations first. We can be sure God knows exactly what he is doing and why.) 41 Isaiah said these things having seen God’s glory (Is.6) and so he spoke of him. 42 Nevertheless many did believe, even some of the leaders, but they were afraid to say so, lest they be tossed out of the synagogue. (“Cast out”, excommunicated.) 43 They valued the honor and respect from men, rather than from God. 44 Jesus raised his voice over the crowd and said, “Whoever follows me is not believing in me, but is believing in the one who sent me.” (See..? It’s Father after all. Yes because he’s letting things (human thoughts, etc) run their course rather than an ant farm, we people, all suffer some. And some terribly. Yet God, being Life (itself) lives through, experiences and suffers everything. All things that ever occur. Now why would he do that!? ๐Ÿค”Maybe it’s not an ant farm he’s creating.) 45 “And the one seeing me, they are also seeing the one who sent me”. (“He is God’s exact representation, the exact image of his person” Heb.1:3.) 46 “I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone believing in me, will not abide in darkness. 47 If anyone hears my words and doesn’t keep them, I don’t judge them. I didn’t come that I might judge the world, but that I might save the world. 48 The one rejecting me, and not receiving my words, has what judges them. The words I spoke will judge him, in the last ‘day’. [In - en - in, on, at, by, with.. in.] 49 I haven’t spoken from myself, but the one who sent me tells me what I should say. 50 And I know that what he says is life, so what the Father says, those are the things I say.”

9 Do you not know that those who practice wrong cannot inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves! Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers can inherit the kingdom of God. (While thusly - it’s just common sense. To inherit without the changes God produces in us, would be life always as it presently is, everybody self seeking.. which ends up in wars, etc. and all the types of suffering there is.) 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, and sanctified. And you were justified. All in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 12 It may be said “All things (like foods and drinks, games and collections) are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything, becoming its slave. 13 "Foods for the belly and the belly for foods," but God will fade away both.” (How much we don’t know, Rev.22 mentions twelve fruits for the twelve months, after the total, universal regenesis. And banquets seem to still go on.) Now the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

The leaders, the chief priests and scribes were seeking how to take him by stealth that they might kill him. 2 “But not during the feast/festival” they said, “lest there be an uproar of the people”. 3 Jesus was at the house of Simon the leper (healed, I’m sure) in Bethany. During the meal a woman came in with an expensive bottle of perfume. She broke the seal and poured the oil over Jesus’ head. [Ancient Israel anointed their kings.] 4 Some there were offended thinking what a waste it was. 5 And they grumbled at her, “You could have sold that to help the poor!” 6 But Jesus said, “Why trouble her? She has done a good work for me. 7 You always have the poor with you, and you can do good to them at any time, but you will not always have me with you. 8 She came to do what she could, she has come beforehand to anoint me for burial. 9 I tell you, wherever the good news is proclaimed, this too will be told as a memorial to her.

Thayer comments that the proper meaning of krรญnล, is to pick out (choose) by separating"] - I’m convinced that during the Lord’s long second advent, the Lord will do the same works He did during his brief first one. But with helpers, serving, called reigning, for to do His works, surely(?) is to reign. And isn’t that what Jesus did? Separated those he healed, and those who followed him. Look at the pattern of the Autumn holy days. I think Judgment ‘Day’ will last 500 years. Maybe you’ll see the pattern I do.) And if the world is to be so judged by you, can not you judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more the things of this life? 4 So why lay such cases before those who have no standing in the church? 5 I do say this to your shame, for can it be that there is not one wise one among you who with integrity is able and competent to judge between fellow believers? 6 Instead it is brother against brother, etc, and before nonbelievers! 7 To even have such lawsuits among you, shows failure. It is better to accept injustice. Better to be cheated. 8 Instead you cheat and wrong each other! And this among brothers and sisters!

(And thus what it does?) 3 And the second angel poured out his bowl upon the seas and they became as blood as from a corpse and every living creature in the sea died. 4 The third angel poured out his bowl upon the rivers and streams, and they became as blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying, “You are righteous, Oh holy one, who is and has been, the holy one, for so you have judged. 6 Because THEY poured out the blood of believers and prophets, now they have become worthy to drink blood. 7 And I heard a voice from the altar speaking, “Yes, LORD God, Al-mighty, true and just are your judgments.”

20 Now there were some Greeks who had come to Jerusalem for Passover. 21 Philip from Bethsaida in Galilee was there also, so they went to him and said, "Sir, we would like to see Jesus." 22 So Philip went and told Andrew, and then they went together to tell Jesus. 23 And Jesus answered, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat dies and is buried in the earth, it remains alone. But if it dies it produces many. 25 Anyone who’s life is most beloved to them, will lose it. But the one holding it loosely (not grasping) their life in the world, loving it less, they will keep their life to life eternal [aionios - pertaining to an age]. 26 If anyone serves me, let them follow me, and then where I am they will be too. And whoever serves me, my father will honor. 27 Now, at this hour, my heart is troubled, but what should I say? ‘Father deliver me from this hour’? It’s for this hour I came into the world. 28 Father, glorify your name..” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” 29 The crowd heard the voice, and some said it was thunder, while others said it was an angel speaking to him. 30 Then Jesus told them, “This voice came for your sakes, not mine. 31 Now comes judgment of this world [kรณsmos - literally, something ordered, an ordered system]. Now the ruler of this world is cast outside.” (A new age was going to emerge.. the ride of he who rides a white horse.. the ride of the gospel and the world’s reaction - Ps.2 - to it. But! There is always the “falling away” and “lawlessness” etc. which surely sounds like the return of all the old ‘gods’/demons. yet! The battle is won. God just chooses to let it play itself out and run its course?) 32 And if the Son of man is lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to myself.” 33 He said this, in reference to the sort of death he was about to suffer. 34 The crowd answered, “We have heard that the Christ/Messiah would abide to the age (of eternity). Why do you say the Son of man will be lifted up? Who is this Son of man? 35 Jesus said, “My light will shine for you just a little while longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness not overtake you. Those who walk in darkness don’t know where they’re going. 36 Believe in the light while you have it! So that you will be children of the Light.” He spoke these things, and then went into seclusion for a short while.

7 Purge out the old (carnal/selfish) leaven (dear church/group of believers) that you may be a new batch of dough. (A new loaf of bread, new, in newness of life). Because Jesus, our Passover lamb has been sacrificed for us! 8 So let us *celebrate* the festival (Passover) not with the old bread of malice and evil, but with the new (wholesome) bread of truth, genuineness and sincerity. 9 For when I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with sexually immoral people, 10 I didn’t mean people of the world, who are swindlers, or immoral, or idol worshippers, for then you would have to leave the world. (And then “how shall they hear?” the Good News For All.) 11 What I meant is don’t associate with (established) believers who are greedy, or swindlers, or are immoral (for example a believing skirt chaser practices a fraud against women, pretending love) or are abusive, or thieves, or worships idols (other ‘gods’). From such stay away, refuse to even eat with them. (As allowed “leaven will leaven the whole batch”/church/group.) 12 What business is it mine (ours) to judge those outside of the church? Is it not those inside the church whom we are to judge? 13 God will judge the world, but purge the evil - from among you.

1 - Some believers, also of the Judean faith, came down to Antioch from Jerusalem, and were troubling the believers by saying all gentile (non Hebrew/Israel) brothers had to be circumcised according to the law given by Moses. 2 Paul and Barnabas and others strongly disagreed, and the argument had been raging on (so to speak). So the group decided to send Paul and Barnabas and six other brothers to Jerusalem to discuss the matter with the apostles there. 3 As they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told the people how gentiles were receiving the message, and were turning to God. This was making everybody happy. 4 When they got to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders. So they told them about all that had happened among the gentiles. 5 But some Pharisees of Jerusalem who had become followers of the Lord, stood up and said, "Gentile believers in the Lord must be circumcised and told they must keep [tรฉreรณ - to watch over, to guard, from tฤ“ros - a guard] (focus on?) the Law of Moses." (Whereas believers/followers focus on the grace/not earned kindness of God. That’s our only acceptable stand before Him. Totally for our good and benefit, as being not perfect, but imperfect (being hamartians, lol) we cannot make ourselves “perfect”. At first this seems a bad requirement, to be perfect! The ‘problem’ is, God is Life (surely?) the life force itself, and, he “is perfect”. So imperfect is the opposite of life. And obviously imperfection is also an abyss of potential. A fitting thought for Oct.31, when I’m doing this study. When we put ourselves in God’s hands, well he knows our highest blueprint. And the Scripture says we will be like Jesus. Jesus is called “forever first/proto”, the prototype! I emphasize he is “forever first” because sometimes there’s doctrines afloat that make it sound like we (humanity, or is it those who by a lucky shake of God’s dice are chosen to believe during this lifetime?) will be equal to Jesus or even the Father! Don’t they remember who first said “I will ascend”.. We definitely have to be on our toes as to doctrine! Some of it is very subtle.. A tapestry weaved with almost all true threads, with just one false thread that changes the whole thing. ๐Ÿค”I guess that’s what the mistranslations are too.. Talk about misinformation! It’s everywhere!) (I have decided to throw caution to the wind and put parenthesis within parentheses.๐Ÿค“)

6 So the apostles and elders gathered to talk the matter over. 7 After much discussion, Peter got up and said, “Brothers you know that a while back God chose to send me to the gentiles with his message, that they might hear the good news and believe. 8 And God - who knows the heart - showed His approval - by giving to them the Holy Spirit, just as He had to us. 9 He made no difference between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10 So why would we try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear? 11 We believe that we are all saved the same way! By the undeserved grace of God, through the Lord Jesus.”

12 Everyone listened quietly as Barnabas and Paul told about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done through them, while they were among the Gentiles. 13 When they had finished speaking, James said, “Brothers, listen to me!” (Note: James is the one who wrote “faith without works is dead” - as there’s bound to be changes and good fruit, etc.) 14 James continued, “Simon Peter has told us how God visited [episkeptomai - visited, selected] to take out of the gentiles, people for his name.” (This is the same wording used in ancient Old Testament days, about Israel. And now in Jesus, Hebrew and Gentile “are one”. Are brothers. One day all humanity will belong to “the commonwealth of Israel”.) 15 “And the words of the prophets agree, as is written, 16 ‘After these things I will return and rebuild the tabernacle/tent of David which has fallen down, but the ruins of it I will build again and set it on its feet/make it stand. 17 So the remainder of mankind may seek the Lord and all the gentiles/nations, called by my name” (all are his children) “says the LORD, doing these things. 18 From eternity God knows everything about all his works. 19 Therefor I judge it best not to trouble the gentiles who are turning to God, 20 but to write to them to abstain from the pollutions of idols, and the sexual immorality, and from food from a strangled animal and from blood. 21 For a long time, after all, Moses is read every Sabbath in every city.”

The Ten Commandments For Happiness and Healthy and Peaceful Society:

  1. no other ‘gods’

  2. don’t make images or idols and worship them (THE big thing in the middle east ancient days)

   3. don’t swear to things in God’s name if you don’t genuinely mean it

   4. Take the day of rest, ESPECIALLY for those you employ, in household, field or world, even animals [#1 through 4, summed as “Love God”. THE law of Life for Happiness, etc.]

   5. honor your father and mother

   6. do not murder

   7. be faithful in marriage

   8. do not steal

   9. do not lie about or bear false witness/testimony against another

  10. do not covet/desire after your fellow persons house, property, etc. or spouse [#5 through 10, summed up in “love (have genuine affection for) your fellow person as much as you love yourself”] — Moses also, by “inspiration of God” wrote health laws.. like circumcision, no pork, etc, this was long before antibiotics fed to them, and strict quarantine laws. At Mt. Sinai they took a blood oath with God.. And NO other nation or especially race, would have done any better. The law was given as a guide and tutor, and to separate Israel as ‘swaddling cloths’ for Messiah/Savior of the world. Who was executed by leaders, according to GOD’s secret plan. Because it is strong enough to appease, ultimately, every delicate psyche and even the worst of guilty consciences. And is a blood Oath. And God doesn’t swear an oath in vain. (Isaiah 45:23 - “I have sworn in my own name” (there’s no higher to swear to) “a vow that will not be broken, that to me every knee will bend, and every tongue will swear” [joyfully] “an oath to Me”. — Which is a Good thing, especially considering God is Life.. the Spirit of Life.. Light.. and Love. If we love darkness, we can pray.

                         ~*~

28 Jesus said, “Hear the parable of the fig tree” (note - an illustration, but also literal, one without the other doesn’t work). “Hear the parable of the fig tree.” (This literal is straightforward.) 29 “When [already now] its branches become tender and it puts out the first leaves, we know that summer is near. So also

you, when you see these things happening, know He is at the door.”

[In the Old Testament, and in the prophet’s minds, the “day of the LORD” is a day of consequences. A ‘day’ of judgment. “Your deeds will return upon your own head.” - Obadiah 1:15 ..”When you see these things happening know it is near ..Patient endurance is your strength” Lk.21:19.] ..30 “Truly I tell you, this genea - race, family, ethnicity (or) generation - will not have passed away, even until all these things have taken place. 31 Heaven and earth may pass away, but my words will never pass away/fail. (The nations will not succeed in wiping out the Hebrew race, called ‘the Jews’ a slang word, it was prophesied/foretold by God, “You will become scorned, a byword, and ridiculed” Deut.28:37.) ..32 “Of that day, no one knows the day or hour of it, not the angels, not even the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, and be watchful therefor, for you do not know when it will happen. 34 It’s like a man going on a journey. He leaves his house (God leaves planet Earth, and Jesus leaves the followers) putting his servants in charge, each one with their assigned task. And tells the one at the door to keep watch. 35 Watch therefor because you don’t know when the master of the house comes, whether it be at evening, or midnight, or when the rooster crows or in the morning. 36 So he not come and find you sleeping. 37 What now I say to you, I say to all, watch [grฤ“goreรบล – literally, stay awake; figuratively, be vigilant responsible, watchful.] (1.Able to see where your nation and world is headed? To “blessing”/peace/abundance “or cursing”/dissolution and decomposition. 7 For what makes anyone better than anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast? (Why do we humans so often think “it’s all about me”! Lol.) 8 You think you are everything you need to be, and know all things. You are already rich. You are reigning now in God’s kingdom. And without us. I wish you really were reigning already, for we would be reigning with you! (Able to do the works of Jesus during his long second advent.) 9 For I think God has exhibited us, the apostles, as last, and appointed to death. We are a spectacle to the world, both to angels and men. 10 We are fools on account of Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak but you are strong. You are honored, and we are dishonored. 11 As for us, at the present time, we are hungry, thirsty and poorly clad. We are pushed around, and wander homeless. 12 We work with our own hands, if we’re insulted, we bless, if we’re persecuted we endure. 13 When slandered, we encourage. We are as refuse of the earth, right up to today. (Israel is the micro, world is the macro. As with Israel so with the world. One labeled the great satan the other the little satan. Prophecy as micro, later global.)

In fact I don’t judge (worry about?) myself. 4 My conscience is clear! Yet that doesn’t necessarily make me innocent! It is the Lord who judges! 5 Therefor, let us not judge things before it’s time. And then praise [รฉpainos - from epรญ - on, fitting, which intensifies aรญnos - praise – properly, fitting (apt) praise] will come to each from God. 6 Friends, I have used Apollos and myself as examples, not  to place one person above another person, that none (no group) be puffed up over another.
