Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 12:13-21

13 - Someone in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14 But Jesus said, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?” 15 And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life doesn’t consist in the abundance of his possessions.” 16 So he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced a great harvest, 17 and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? For I have nowhere to store my crops.’ 18 And he said to himself, ‘I will do this, I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones! And so shall I store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to myself, ‘Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years. Relax, eat, drink, and be merry.’ 20 But then God said to him, ‘Fool! This very night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So is anyone who lays up treasure for theirself but is not rich toward God.”

From New Testament Letters

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                ~ James 5:9-20 ~

9 - Don’t grumble against one another, brethren, (brothers and sisters) so you may not be judged, for behold! The Judge is standing at the door. 10 As an example of suffering and patience think of the prophets who spoke in the name of the LORD. 11 And we consider those blessed who steadfastly endured. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

12 But above all, my brethren, don’t swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let them pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let them sing praises. 14 Is any among you sick? Let them call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise them up. And if they have committed sins, they will be forgiven.16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain upon the earth. (A 3.5) 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore fruit.

19 My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings them back, 20 know that whoever brings back a sinner from their wandering, will save their souL from-death, and covers a multitude of sins.

        WeeKly BooK oF Revelation

                paraphrased study

When we left off last week, the dragon was raging, now to be more attentively upon “the faith’s other children” - which, surely(?) brings us to Revelation 16’s gathering to Armageddon battle (Mt.13:30). End of chapter 12. End of one of three tellings of the vision. Chapter twelve being the middle telling. “..And the dragon stood on the sand of the sea shore”.. How he turns rage on Israel and takes the world to Armageddon brings us to chapter 13.

13:1 - And I saw a (many headed geopolitical) beast (entity, institution) rising up, out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on the horns of it, and upon the heads of it, names of blasphemy [blasphΓ©mia - slander]. 2 And the beast that I [John] saw was like a leopard, but with feet like a bear's, and its mouth, like a lion's mouth. (All predators.) And the dragon gave to it, his power and his throne and gave it great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound was healed. (And it comes about that) the whole world is filled with wonder [thaumazΓ³ - marvel, wonder, admiration] and will follow after the beast. 4 And (so) they revered the dragon, who had given the authority to the beast, and they revered the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? And who can make war against it?” (“And they shall say ‘Peace! Peace!’” But *alas! Dan.12:11 and 2:43; Dan.12:11-12 w/ Lk.19:41-44 and 1Cor.3:16.)

5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and slanderous/blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. (This is the second 42 months/3.5 years of the lauded peace [covenant, treaty, league] that *alas, will only last seven years, and will be broken in the middle against Israel - Rev.12:17.) 6 It opened its mouth to utter slanders against God, blaspheming his name and his tabernacle, and those tabernacling in heaven. [Angels.] 7 Also it was allowed to make war upon the saints [believers/followers] and to conquer them. And authority was given to it over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 And all who dwell upon earth will revere it, everyone whose name has not been written in the book of life of the lamb who was slain from the founding [katabolΓ© - laying down] of the world [kosmos - order, the world, a properly ordered system, universe, creation]. (Why was that the remedy? The slain lamb, remedy of what God knew was bound to occur.. his having allowed that man and angel be thinking, reasoning beings, which includes having some power of choice. God surely(!?) does not need to be appeased, though think of the guiltiest of guilty consciences.. At the same time, yes Jesus paid - in biblical manner of speaking - our debt to universal society, and the remedy must be strong enough to convince all, from the most ‘innocent’ among us, to the most heartless and cruel. The penalty/result of straying from God who is Life, is death, this entropy and passing away. But “death could not hold him” for he is and was Perfect, the only straight out from God one. Entering death he had the key to unlock death and so set the captives (all of us) free. Important note - The initiaL conditions of some upon GWT judgment ‘day’ is portrayed in the rich man and Lazarus parable, and in the outside of the vision narrative of Rev.22.)

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 12:1-12

1 - Meanwhile, when so many had gathered, they were trampling one another, he began, first, to say to his disciples, “Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy [hypokrisαΈ—s - literally - acting under a mask]. 2 Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on housetops. (Figures of speech.) 4 “I tell you, my friends (now crowd) do not fear those who kill the body, (pharisees/leaders) and after that have nothing more they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear (you pharisees) fear he who, after the destruction/ruin, has authority to cast into Gehenna [from gay - valley, and Hinnom - Gehenna] (armageddon, first one coming in 70 CE). Yes, I tell you, fear him! 6 BecauSe, are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not oNe of them is forgotten before God! 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not (crowd) you are of more value than many sparrows.

8 “And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God, 9 but the one who denies me before men, will be denied before the angels of God. (Does noT say ‘forever and ever’.) 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one blaspheming against the Holy Spirit(/Presence) of God is not forgiven. 11 Then when they bring you before the councils and rulers and the authorities, don’t be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, 12 for the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) will teach you in that very hour what you should say.”

1 - Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you! 2 For your riches will decay and your garments will be moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver will corrode, and their corrosion will be testimony against you which will consume your flesh (nature/self first carnal nature) liKe fire you have stored up for the last time. 4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you! And the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the LORD of hosts. 5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts for a day of butchery. 6 You have condemned and murdered the righteous person, who doesn’t (even) resist you. (Will reap what you sow.. Your deeds will return on your own heads - Obadiah 1:15.)

7 Be patient, therefore, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient, until the earth receives the early aNd the late rains. (Harvests, 1Cor.15:22-24,28 w/ Mt.13:33, key word 3 ..harvests). 8 You also, be patient. Strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draws near.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 11:37-54

37 - While Jesus was still speaking, a Pharisee invited him to dine with him at his house, so he went in and reclined at table. 38 The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not wash before the meal. (A Pharisee traditional, ritual washing.) 39 So Jesus said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside is full of greed and wickedness. 40 You unthinking! Didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also? 41 But if you give as alms those things that are within, then everything outside is clean also. 42 But woe to you Pharisees, for you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the rest. 43 Woe to you Pharisees, for you love the best seats in the synagogue and greetings in the marketplace. 44 Woe to you, for you are like unmarked graves, which people walk over without knowing it.”

45 One of the scribes (lawyers) answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.” 46 And he said, “Woe to you lawyers also, for you load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves don’t lift the burdens with even one of your fingers. 47 Woe to you, for you build the tombs of the prophets, whom your fathers killed. 48 So you are witnesses and consent to those killings, and so you build their tombs. 49 So also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’ 50 so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation. (They must have done away with a Zechariah..? Or is this the prophet?) 52 Woe to you scribes, for you have taken away the key to knowledge. You don’t enter yourselves, and you block the way for those who are entering.”

53 And as he was leaving, the scribes and Pharisees began to pressure him, provoking him to speak about many things, 54 for they were trying to catch him in something he might say.

13 And you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a small time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is not good! 17 So whoever knows the right to do and fails to do it, for them it is sin [hamartia - missing the mark].

It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of man be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and give judgment against them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and look, something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and give judgment concerning them, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and look, something greater than Jonah is here.

33 “No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a bowl, but they put it on a lampstand, so those who enter may see by its light. 34 The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your body will be full of darkness. 35 Therefore be careful, lest the light that’s in you be actually darkness, and not light. 36 And if your whole body is full of light, having no dark part, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its radiance gives light.”

(Heartfelt remorse for any evils done and even flaws.) 10 Humble yourselves before the LORD, and he will lift you up [hupsoΓ³ - to lift or raise up, uplift, lift on high, exalt] (especially during his long second advent). 11 Don’T speak evil against one another, brethren/brothers and sisters. The one who speaks against a brother or sister or judges his brother or sister, speaks evil against the truth and judges the truth. But if you judge the truth, you’re then not a doer of truth, but a judge. (Have unlawfully made yourself to be judge.)

 ⭐️  A paraphrased study

       ~~ 10:21-33 ~~

21 - So Peter went down from the roof, and greeted the men saying, “I’m who you’re looking for. Why have you come?” 22 And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion (Roman soldier or general) an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you and have you come to his house in order to hear what you have to say.

23 So he invited them in to be his guests, and the next day he, and some brothers from Joppa, went with them. 24 And on the following day they arrived at Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and he had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet so as to worship him. 26 But Peter lifting him back up, said, “Stand up, I am but a man like yourself.” 27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found those Cornelius had gathered. 28 And said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation (separated for the sake of birthing Messiah, the “savior of the world” from death and its cause). But God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean. 29 So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then why you have sent for me.”

30 And Cornelius said, “Four days ago, I was praying in my house at the ninth hour, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing! 3 And he said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, who lives by the sea.’ 33 So I sent for you at once, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here in the presence of God to hear all which you have been commanded by the Lord.”

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 11:14-28

14 - Jesus healed a man who was mute by casting out a demon, and when the man spoke, the people marveled. 15 But some said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons!”16 Even while others, trying to test him, kept asking him for a sign from heaven. 17 But he knew what they were thinking, and said to them, “Every kingdom/empire/nation which is divided against itself will be laid waste, for a divided household falls. 18 If Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom continue? 19 If I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges (discerning about you ones). 20 But if it’s by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come among you.

21 If a strong man(/household/nation) is fully armed, and is guarded well, the house is safe. 22 But if one stronger attacks and is able to overcome him, his armor in which he trusted is carried away, and his house becomes spoils to be divided. 23 Whoever is not with me (in mY cause) is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

24 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through desert places looking for somewhere to rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to the house from which I came.’ 25 And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself! And they enter and make theirselves at home there. And the last state is worse than the first.” (The vessel needs to be full ..of God’s Spirit/Presence. And cast out of a house, a nation/governing.. Overturning kings.. It cAn return.)

27 As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you! And the bosom at which you nursed!” 28 But he said, “No, rather [menounge - rather, on the contrary] blessed are those hearing the word of God and keeping it.”

1 - What causes quarrels and fights among you? (And furious/rude debates?) Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? 2 You desire and don’t have, so you murder (hate in the heart). You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. And you don’t have, because you don’t ask! 3 Or you ask and don’t receive, because you ask wrongly, in self interest. 4 You unfaithful people!

Do you not know that friendship with (and listening to) the world is to be adversarial with God? Wishing to be a friend of the (collective) world (of strayed humanity) makes us an adversary of God. 5 Do you think it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “With jealousy, yearns the Spirit of God to dwell/settle in us”? 6 Nevertheless his grace is greater.. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud. But gives grace to the humble.”

And let us not be led into temptation.’” 5 And he said, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves! 6 For a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’. 7 And he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me. The door is shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, though he will not get up, because he is his friend, and because of his insistence, he will rise and give him whatever he needs. 9 And so I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11 What parent among you, if your child asks for a fish, will instead give them a serpent? 12 Or if they asks for an egg, will give them a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil [ponΓ©ros - toilsome, bad] (a hamartian - imperfect) know how to give good gifts to your children - how much more - will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

By their good conduct let them show their works and faithfulness in the humility of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy, and self interest ambition in your hearts, don’t boast, while being unfaithful to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but it is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition is, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, and is impartial and sincere.18 And a harvest of righteousness is reaped by those who sow peacefuLLy and make peace.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 10:29-42

29 - But the lawyer/scribe, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” (As in “love thy neighbor”/fellow person.) 30 (Surprise, lol,) Jesus answered with a parable, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was fallen upon by a band of thieves. They robbed him, even of his clothing, and beat him and left him for dead. 31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite (government public servant) when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a (looked down upon by ‘polite’ society) Samaritan, as he journeyed, came by, and when he saw him, he was concerned. 34 So he went to him and he bound up his wounds, cleansing them with oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and further took care of him. 35 Then the next day he gave the innkeeper two denarii, saying, ‘Take care of him, and if you spend more, I will repay you when I come back.’

36 Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell among robbers?” 37 The scribe said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said, “Go and do likewise.”

38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister Mary, who was sitting at the Lord's feet listening to his teaching. 40 But Martha was busy with much serving. And she went to Jesus and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (This is important! Martha learned it also. Yet if we ignore chores they’ll end up as a huge, overwhelming pile waiting for us, lol. I try to do each one when the Spirit moves me. He organizes us, gives us time saving tips! But “the Kingdom first”.πŸ’•)

7 - For every kind of beast and of bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed, and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no human can tame the human tongue! (And today the typing finger.) It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.10 From the same mouth (and typing finger) comes blessing and cursing. My brethren/brothers and sisters, this ought not to be! 11 Does a spring pour forth both fresh, living water, and salt water? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond (snarkiness) yield fresh (life giving) waters.

21 - At that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth! That you have hidden these things from the (supposed) wise and understanding, and have revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 22 All-things [pas - all, every, the whole] has been given to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is, except the Son, and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

23 Then turning to the disciples he said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and they didn’t. And to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”

25 And then a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 Jesus said, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And the lawyer (scribe) answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” 28 And Jesus said to him, “You have answered correctly, do this, and you will live.” (But we have to do it perfectly. Or accept “Christ Crucified” as our pardon, and declared innocent verdict.)

3 - When we put bits in the mouth of a horse so they obey us, the whole horse can be directed. 4 And look at ships - though they are so large and driven about by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder. .5 So also the human tongue is a small member, yet it boasts great things.! And how great a forest can be set on fire by a small blaze! 6 For the tongue is a fire, a world of trouble. And among our members, can corrupt the entire body, setting on fire the very course of life, fire that is set on fire by hell. (I think this last has at least two meanings.. And then we can all argue over which is right, haha! A tongue that causes trouble, division.. misleading rhetoric.. mobs.. Which leaders did against Jesus and later against Paul and friends, and the Lord’s other disciples and followers. But also, do you know someone, a friend or family member who has developed a habitual, terribly sharp tongue? Perhaps it proceeds from a deep, dark misery they are going through. Pray for them to be healed of deep unhappiness?)

13 - “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!” Jesus said, “For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have turned long ago, and sat in sackcloth and ashes.14 But it will be more bearable” [anektoteros - more tolerable, from anΓ©xomai - ana - up, completing a process, and exō - to have] (will be better) “for Tyre and Sidon than for you” (during completion of the process) “in the judgment. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades.

16 The one who hears [akouΓ³ - hears, listens, comprehends by hearing] you hears me, and the one who rejects [atheteΓ³ - sets aside, does away with] you sets aside me, and the one who sets aside me, sets aside he who sent me.”

17 And when the seventy-two returned, with joy, they said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” 18 And Jesus said, “I beheld Satan [satanas - adversary] as lightning fall from heaven. 19 And see, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy [exthrΓ³s - hostility, and deep rooted hatred, resolved to inflict harm] and nothing shall harm you.

20 Nevertheless, don’t rejoice at this - that the spirits are subject to you - but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

πŸƒ We need not be buffeted by the adversary. He’s “the accuser” ..the mister negative.. Called Satan and slanderer.. Serpent, liar. His lies are serpentine. He threatens. But like daggers his threats fall broken to the ground if they hit our mighty, covering shield of faith.

And didn’t Jesus our Lord show us exactly how to deal with the conspirer, seducer? When he said, “If you’re hungry, turn this stone into bread!” Ahhh.. but “it is written you shall not live on bread alone.. But by every word of God.” Two Timothy 3:16 says it’s - “All scripture for training”.

Training for what? Don’t you think his long second advent will be a longer, wider (full scope) version of his first so brief one? With closure concerning all things.. all history.. for all people of all generations. And won’t there be helpers? Doesn’t that answer the question of why some are called now, and some not until they have risen into the GWT judgment ‘day’.. A ‘day’ of “kolasin aionion” / korrection eonian / an eon of correction, Mt.25:46. But of course both words have been translated as their most extreme possible interpretation.

This seems to be a painstaking and slow process of sealing humanity and creation - we shall all have character clear as crystal! Both angelos and anthropos.. And all creatures.

Just how do you create genuinely able to think and reason beings, aNd, keep paradise/perfection intact?

God iS life. Surely? “In the beginning — God.” Then the onLy straight out from God one, the Son. Forever preeminent and “First”. Within whom all else was created, that was created. And within him  “all in heaven and earth” are - ultimately - being gathered - Eph.1:10, there’s no word for “things” in the Greek, but translators inserted it in place of “all” many times. They just couldn’t believe.. And entropy rules all, including communication and messages.. It all breaks down.. It’s dust to dust, God’s ‘wrath’ (greek orge - passion ..love! Cause and effect.) All (things) are in this slow gehenna oven.. This is the consuming fire everyone is baptized with.. With Truth. Father and Son are so close, both administer God’s Spirit/Presence.

God can onLy BE true. And Truth - Life. All else is consumed, fades away. It cannot endure because God is Life and God “is perfect” (Mt.5:48). Life as we presently know it, is an unavoidable, all important contrast and crucible. The dis-ease is part of the cure. All “will be (thoroughly) abhorred by the dead bodies” of Armageddon Battle/culmination of history.. and of their own dead carnal self that once was (the personal metaphor). “The smoke of it will rise up forever and ever” ..in every heart, mind and memory. And when aLL is said and done we will all wear “crowns of Life” (not metal).

There’s TWO vivifications of being made all new, perfect, and incorruptible. 1Cor.15:52 at the Lord’s return. And much later, at the (fiery) “regeneration” greek word “palin/again-genesis” of Rev.21:5 when God our Father says “behold! I make all new!” And by that, death dies.

1 - After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into all the towns and wherever he was about to go. 2 And he told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest that he will send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go on your way, but I am sending you out as lambs into the midst of wolves. 4 Don’t take a moneybag, no knapsack, no extra sandals, and don’t greet anyone on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ 6 And if a person of peace is there, your peace will rest upon it. But if not, it will return to you. 7 Remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they set before you, for the laborer deserves their wages. Don’t go from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what they provide. 9 Heal the sick that are there, and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has drawn near to you.’

10 But whenever you enter a town and they don’t receive you, go into the streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town clinging to our feet, we shake off. But know this, the kingdom of God drew near to you.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more tolerable [anΓ©xomai - from ana - up, completing a process, and exō - to have] (will be better during completion of the process) for Sodom on that (great) ‘day’ than it will be for that city.”

But even the demons believe—and shudder!. 20 Do you want to be shown, oh misled person, that faith apart from works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? (He passed the test/was tempered.) 22 You see that faith was active, along with his works. And that his faith was completed by his works. 23 And how the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and God called him his friend. 24 You see how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone? (Genuinely hearing and believing the Lord’s words, is to be a “doer of them” aka, a “follower”. Why would we delay?) 25 And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? (Because she believed their message and chose their side.) 26 For as the body apart from the spirit(/presence of Life) is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

        WeeKly BooK oF Revelation

                paraphrased study

[After the woman, the faith, fled (Jerusalem in 70CE) and time had passed.. and after “war in heaven”] 13 - the dragon, when he saw that he was now limited to Earth, pursued (persecuted, inquisitioned) the woman, the faith, who had given birth to the manchild (Son of man/Christ). 14 But the woman, the faith was given the two wings of an eagle, that she might fly (sail) to the wilderness to a place of her to be nourished and grow [in a widest sense] for a time, times and half (a division of) time, safe from the face [prosΓ³pon - presence, face, advantage] of the serpent [of “the dragon, ancient serpent, called the devil and Satan ..deceiver of the whole world” vs.9].

15 Then (after the 1, 2 and ½ divisions of time) the serpent spewed water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, the faith. In order to wash her away with a flood, from off the face of the Earth.

16 But (in the vision John was seeing) the earth helped the woman. It opens its mouth and swallows the flood, the dragon had poured from his mouth after her. (A spiritual flood, a strong delusion? as to “origins” declaring man most high, “seated in the temple as god”/highest power; and? widespread drought just before Armageddon/next verse). 17 And the dragon was furious with the woman, the faith, and went off to make war upon the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God. And (by then, Mt.23:39) hold to the testimony of Jesus.

And the dragon stood on the sand of the sea.

                          ~*~

Review: Chapter twelve is the second telling of the revelation vision. It is between the other two tellings - 6:1-2 to 11:19, but a trick with the seals keeps the vision veiled. They, the elements of the vision (and age) are described at the beginning of the vision as a swirl of their full and entire effects, first to very last. Especially pronounced in the 6th seal and the following 7:1,3 (9,4) where we presently still are. Jesus as going from ascension to chapter 5.. White horse rider being the “good news to all”. Red horse rider is mankind/empire’s response.. Don’t fear the pale rider, etc, Ps.91. — Third telling is 13:1 - “Then I saw rising out of the sea a great beast/entity/institution with ten horns”/powers/seats.. 13:1 to 19:11.

Test - 13:13 as 1st seal 6 event, pinpoints an office, not (yet?) an individual. (The 3 mentions of lake of fire are at huge, fiery, earthly events.)

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Mark 10:35-45

35 - James and John, the sons of Zebedee said to Jesus, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” (Zebedee was a fisherman by trade, they and Peter and Andrew worked for. James and John, sons of him, were referred to by Jesus as “sons of thunder”. )

36 Jesus asked them, “What do you want me to do for you?” 37 And they said, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left hand, at your glory.” 38 Jesus answered them saying, “You don’t know what you’re asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I will? Or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am about to be baptized?” 39 And they said, “Yes, we are able.” And Jesus answered, “The cup I drink you indeed will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you too will be baptized, 40 but to sit at my right hand or at my left is not mine to give, but is prepared for those prepared for/of it.” 41 And when the ten heard it, they a little indignant at James and John. 42 But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles/nations, lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 43 But it should not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant. 44 And whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

9 - But if you show partiality, you commit [ergazomai - work, trade, do] sin [hamartian - miss the mark] and are shown up by the law to be transgressing. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it. 11 The same God who told us to be faithful in marriage also told us not to murder. So even if you are faithful in marriage, but murder someone, you still have broken God's Law. 12 So speak and act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

14 What good is it, my brethren, if someone says they have faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

WeekLy BooK oF Acts 10 1-20

 A paraphrased study

1 - At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a Roman centurion of a military guard, 2 a devout man who revered God along with all his household. He gave alms generously to the people, and prayed habitually to God. 3 About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision, an angel of God come in and say to him, “Cornelius.” 4 And he looked at him in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” And the angel of the LORD said, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God. 5 And now send some men to Joppa and bring the man Simon who’s called Peter. 6 He’s staying with one Simon, a leather tanner, whose house is by the sea.” 7 When the angel who spoke to him had departed, he called two of his workers and a devout soldier, 8 and having related everything to them, he sent them to Joppa to get Peter.

9 On the next day, as they were on their way and were approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop at about the sixth hour to pray. 10 And he became hungry and was waiting for something to eat, but while they were preparing the meal, he fell into a trance 11 and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners onto the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. 13 And there came a voice saying, “Rise, Peter, kill and eat.” 14 But Peter said, “By no means, LORD! For I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” 15 And the voice came to him again, saying “What God has made clean, don’t call common [koinoΓ³ - common, not special].”16 This happened three times, and then the sheet was taken up to heaven.

17 While Peter was perplexed as to what the vision might mean, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood at the gate. 18 And they called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was there. 19 And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit of God said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you. 20 Go down and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them.” [Hebrews were supposed to remain separated from the nations - to preserve their own (righteous) culture - in order to birth into the world, the “savior of the world” (somewhat in context).]

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Mark 10:28-34

28 - Peter said to Jesus, “We disciples have left everything to follow you.” 29 Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, but with persecutions. And in the age to come the enduring life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and many last, will be first.”

32 And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. And they were amazed at his pace, and those who followed were afraid. Talking to the twelve again, he was told them again what was going to happen to him. 33 “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will have him condemned to death and delivered over to the Gentiles (the nations, here Rome). 34 And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. But after three days he will rise.”

                ~ James 2:1-8 ~

1- My brethren (brothers and sisters) let there be no favoritism as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. (Favoritism skews a message.) 2 For if someone wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor person in old clothing also comes in, 3 and you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “Sit here in a preferred spot,” while you say to the poor one, “Stand over there,” or, “Sit at my feet,” 4 have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil intent? 5 Listen, my beloveds, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and very heirs of the kingdom? Which he has promised to those who love him.

6 But you dishonor the poor person. When isn’t it the rich ones who oppress you, and drag you into courts? 7 Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which we were called?

8 If you really fulfill the Royal Law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” - then you are doing well. [James 1:25 - “the Law of Liberty”.]

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Mark 10:17-27

17 - And then as he was setting out, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit the enduring life?” [AiΓ³nios - ages long (life).] (There’s not really a word for ‘forever’ in the Greek.. or the Old Testament Hebrew. But logically, true Life, being God himself, is enduring life.)

18 And Jesus said, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments.  ‘Don’t murder, don’t commit adultery, don’t steal, don’t bear false witness, don’t defraud. And honor your father and mother.’” (And wouldn’t you know it, there were Pharisee laws on the books that allowed you to put money in trusts instead of benefitting your elderly parents.) 20 And the man said to him, “Teacher! All these I have kept from my youth.” 21 And Jesus, looking at him, felt affection for him, and said, “You lack one thing, go and sell all you have and give it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.” 22 Saddened, the man went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions!

23 And Jesus told his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 Easier it is for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a wealthy person to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 And they were surprised. “Then who” they said, “can be saved?” 27 Jesus said, “With men it’s impossible, but not with God, for with God all is possible.”

23 - If anyone is a hearer of the word, but not a doer, they are like someone who looks intently at theirself in a mirror, 24 and then go away and forget what they look like! 25 But those who look into the perfect law - the Law of Liberty - and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who does (who “follows”) they will be blessed!

26 If anyone thinks they are religious but cannot bridle their tongue, they deceive theirself and their religion is useless [mataios - vain, aimless, without purpose, not useful]. 27 Religion that is pure and uncontaminated before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction [thlipsis - tribulation, pressure, distress] and to keep oneself free from the vices of the world.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 9:51-62

51 - When the days drew near for his ascension, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. 52 He sent messengers ahead of himself, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him. 53 But the people didn’t receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem. 54 And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” 55 But he turned and was indignant with them. 56 And they went on to another village. (Is the Father like Jesus? Or is He like Nebuchadnezzar?)

57 As they were going along their way, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go!” 58 But Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man hasn’t anywhere to lay his head.” 59 To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60 But Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury the dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” 61 Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” 62 Jesus said to him, “No one putting their hand to the plow but then looks back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

16 - Don’t be deceived, my beloved brethren! 17 Every good gift, and every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of light [photon - radiance]. For with him there is no shifting shadow. 18 It is his own will that he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

19 Know this, my beloved, let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. 20 For human anger does not produce the righteousness (state of rightness) of God. 21 Therefore having put away all moral contamination and rampant wickedness [kakopoiéō - wicked disposition, malice, wickedness] receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But don’t mislead yourself being only hearers of the word, but be doers of it.

10 - Later while in the house the disciples asked him again about the matter. 11 And he said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. 12 And if she divorces her husband and marries someone else, she commits adultery.”

13 People were bringing children to him that he might bless them, but the disciples were stopping them. 14 When Jesus saw it, he was annoyed, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them, for to such as they, belongs the kingdom of God. 15 Truly, I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a small child doesn’t enter it.” 16 And he took them in his arms and laying his hands on them, he blessed them.

9 - Let the lowly person boast in their high position. 10 And the rich in their humiliation, because like a flower of the grass they will pass away. 11 For the sun rises with its scorching heat, and the grass whithers. The flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich person fade away in the midst of their pursuits.

12 Blessed is the one who remains steadfast under trial, for when they have stood the test they will receive the crown of Life, which God promises to those who love him. 13 Let no one say when tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself does not tempt anyone. 14 But each person is tempted when lured and enticed by their own desire. 15 For desire gives birth to sin. And sin when fully grown brings forth death. (Like grass we fade away.. dust to dust, God’s wrath. Unavoidable unless creation’s to be an ant farm. So experienced first.. Experience being the crucible and a good teacher. The dis-ease as part of the cure.)

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Mark 10:1-9

1 - He left Capernaum and went to the region of Judea and out beyond the Jordan. And crowds once again gathered to him. And as was his custom, he taught them. (Be still my heart.)

2 And Pharisees came and attempted to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” 3 He answered, “What did Moses command you?” 4 They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.” (Rather than sending her away without divorce.) 5 And Jesus said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment/instruction/law. 6 But at the beginning and forming of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ 7 ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and join closely to his wife, 8 and the two are become one.’ So they are no longer two but one. 9 What therefore God has joined together, man should not separate.” (“Except for adultery” Mt.19:9, and of course abuse. We’re all born sinners/missing the mark/imperfect and have not done all things perfectly, and still don’t. Jesus did not scold the woman of Samaria he met at the well, who had had five(!) husbands. Only once born anew can anyone hope to genuinely do better in this life.)

                ~ James 1:1-8 ~

1 - From James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ (Likely this James is Jesus’ natural brother who became a serious disciple and apostle after Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection [Passover, UB, Firstfruits - the ancient Spring holy days fulfilled. Pentecost])

To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion:

Greetings.

2 Count it all joy, my brethren (brothers and sisters) when trials of various kinds come upon you! 3 For you know the testing of your faith produces steadfastness and stability. (Tested like steel in the forge of life. Life as we presently know it, the crucible, laver, sieve, which continues until one of two - written - vivifications. At the Lord’s return, or at the “behold I make all new” - greek word “pas” all, but translated, all things, Rev.21:5.) 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect! So that you may be made perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (Even Jesus was thusly tempered.)

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let them ask God. For he gives generously to all - without reproach - and it will be given to them. 6 But let them ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is tossed about by the wind. (By all the various winds.) 7 For that person must not suppose that they will receive from the Lord. (Faith, believing, expectation is the ground wire of “receiving”.) 8 They are being double-minded and therefore unstable in all their ways. (Remember the father of a afflicted son who cried “help Lord my unbelief!” The scripture is a treasure trove of riddles. We will never understand its Glorious message if we are doubtful, full of doubt. We become like a swimmer in deep waters thrashing about, grabbing onto any flotsam that floats by?)
