Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 17:20-37

20 - Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus answered, “The kingdom of God doesn’t come with careful observation (like a story covered by newscasters?) 21 Nor do they say, ‘here it is or there it is’ for behold, the kingdom of God is among you.” 22 And, to his disciples he said, “The days are coming when you will desire to see one of these days of the Son of Man, and you’ll not see it. 23 And they’ll say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or ‘Look, here!’ Don’t listen nor follow them. 24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side of heaven to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. (On that day.)

25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 Just as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the day of the Son of Man. 27 They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day came when Noah entered the ark, and the flood destroyed them. 28 Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot. They were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, 29 and, on the same day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them. 30 And so shall it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed. (Like lightning from one end of the sky to the other.)

31 On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take his goods with him, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. 32 Remember Lot's wife. 33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, but whoever lets loose his life will keep it. 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed. One will be taken and the other left. 35 There will be two women grinding together. One will be taken and the other left.” 37 And they asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.” (All things considered, is this the gathering of the world - already dead - to the H’armageddon battle?)

1 - From Paul, an apostle—not appointed by men nor any man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead. 2 And from all the brothers who are with me,

     To the churches of Galatia:

3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus, 4 who gave himself for our sins [hamartia - sin, failure, missing the mark] in order to deliver us from this present evil (of missing the mark and all its potential, from evil) according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom is the glory forever. Amen.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 15:21-31

21 - And the son (who went away and wasted his inheritance on riotous living) said to his (happy) father, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I’m no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 But the father said to his workers, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes for his feet. 23 And get ready the fattened calf and let us eat and celebrate! 24 For my son was dead! But now he’s alive. He was lost, and now he’s found.’ And they began to celebrate.

25 “Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 And he called one of the servants and asked what was the meaning. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound.’ 28 But the older son was angry, and he refused to go in. His father came out and tried to talk to him. 29 But he answered, ‘Father, I’ve worked and served you these many years, and I’ve not run off and left the work for others, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!’ 31 And the father said to him, ‘But son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.’”

                ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:6-18 ~

6 - Now we tell you, in the name of our Lord Jesus, to keep distance from a brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, that we were not idle when we were with you. 8 Nor did we eat anyone's bread without paying for it, but we worked every day, that we might not be a burden to anyone. 9 It wasn’t because we don’t have that right, but to give you an example to imitate. 10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this instruction - If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. 11 For we hear that some among you are walking in idleness, and instead are acting as busy bodies. 12 Now such persons we entreat and encourage in the Lord Jesus, to work quietly and to earn their own living.

13 As for you, brethren, don’t grow weary in doing good. 14 If anyone doesn’t carry through what we say in this letter, take note of that person, and avoid them. 15 Don’t regard them as an enemy, but be warning them as a fellow believer in the family of God. (Some were expecting the Lord so soon, they had quit working for their own support, and whoever they might be responsible for.)

16 Now may the Lord of peace give you peace. At all times in every way, and the Lord be with you all.

17 And I, Paul, write this last greeting with my own hand. This is the sign of genuineness in every letter of mine. It is how I write. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 15:11-20

11 - Jesus said, “There was a man who had two sons. 12 The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’ So he divided his property between them. 13 And not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered everything in reckless living. 14 And when he had spent all, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. 16 And it came about that he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, but no one gave him a thing. 17 Then he came to himself and said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough food? And here I perish with hunger! 18 I will go back to my father, and I’ll say to him, ‘Father, I’ve sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I’m no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.’ 20 And he went home to his father. And then while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. His heart swelled, and he ran and embraced his son and kissed him!” (Where’s the angry Father who has to be appeased by sacrifice? Perhaps we’ve misread the atonement. Atonement it is! But what is really appeased? For all. Strong enough for all. Cannot miss the mark.)

11 - Therefore God sends [pempรณ - send, transmit, permit to go, put forth - occurred seventy nine times, never translated permitted, Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance includes “thrust in”] (let happen(?) a strong delusion, that they would believe what is false. (Is there a stronger delusion than creation just happened?) 12 In order for judgment of the not believing the truth, but thought well of the unrighteousness/injustice [adikia - injustice, unrighteousness, from A - not, and dike - justice, rightness (thought well of the false, the not right)].

13 We however should always give thanks to God for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, who has chosen you from the beginning [archรฉ - beginning, origin] for salvation by sanctification of the Spirit(/Presence of God) and belief in the truth. 14 To this he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus.

15 So then, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by our spoken word or by our letter. 16 And may our Lord Jesus himself, and God our Father, who is loving us and giving us enduring comfort and the good hope [elpis - expectation] by grace. 17 May he comfort your hearts and make them steadfast in every good work and word.

3 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run its course speedily and be honored, as has happened among you. 2 And that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do the things we have instructed. 5 And may the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

14 - And by the signs [sรฉmeion - a sign, miracle, indication, mark, token (of the future? see 13:13)] this (smaller) beast (an office, not yet indicating an individual) is allowed to work in sight of the beast (in sight of the larger, many headed geopolitical beast/entity/institution) it deceives those who dwell upon earth, telling them to make an image to the beast that had been wounded by the sword (had expired) and yet (now) lived again. 15 And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain (reverse order). 16 Also it causes all, small and great, rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so no one may buy or sell unless they have the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18 This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of man (the word “a” was inserted at translation) and the number is 666. (..? Man is carbon based, and carbon has six protons, six neutrons, and six electrons. Strongly? suggesting apocalypse is all done by man. For we have ‘his’ number - an idiom - “I’ve got your number” means understanding someone so well you can predict their actions, or know someone’s true nature and intentions.)

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 15:1-10

1 - Now the tax collectors (tax collectors for Imperial Rome.. so not very well liked) and notorious sinners (harlots, drunkards, etc. common people, higher ‘class’ people could hide being notorious, today we would add drug addicts, yes?) were all drawing near to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and even eats with them!”

3 So he told them this parable, 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, doesn’t leave the ninety-nine in the field, and go after the one that is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it upon his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one rebel who turns, than over ninety-nine righteous persons having no need of repentance. 8 Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, doesn’t light a lamp and sweep the house and look diligently until she finds it? 9 And when she’s found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ 10 Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner [hamartลlรณs - an adjective, derived from hamartรกnล - from hamartia -missing the mark, and nล - wide, missing wide of the mark] who repents.” (Don’t forget, the Pharisees, as a group/party, were robbing widow’s houses..)

1 - Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers snd sisters, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. (Day of judgment for man’s world and empires, imo, the consequences, namely entropy on steroids, ultimately Is.24:20, because of Rev.16:13-16, which is Mt.13:30.) 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man [anthropos - man, mankind] of lawlessness is revealed [apokaluptรณ - uncovered, unveiled, revealed, seen, made plain] the son [hyiรณs – of like nature] of destruction, 4 opposing, and uplifting oneself against every so-called god or object of worship, so as for him in the temple of God to be seated, claiming himself [heautou - himself, herself, itself] is God. (Anthropos as highest power, and the final a.c.) 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And you know what is restraining it now so that it may be revealed in its time.7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work — Word for word — “but the restraining now until out of the midst to happen” [ginomai - come into being, happen, become (become gone)]. 8 And then the lawless [anomos - lawless, without law] will be revealed, which the Lord Jesus will destroy with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. 9 That is the coming of the lawless according to the working [energeia -working, activity, power in action] of Satan with all power [dรฝnamis - force, energy] and false [pseudos - untrue, false] signs [sรฉmeion - a sign, miracle, indication, mark, token] and wonders [teras - wonder, marvel] (modern?)10 and in every deception of wickedness (toward) the (still) perishing anti [against, opposite, hence instead of, denotes contrast, requital] which the love the truth not receiving to [eis - to or into, penetration, purpose, result] in order to be saved [sozo - saved, rescued from destruction and brought into divine safety].

WeekLy BooK oF Acts 11 1-30

 A paraphrased study

1 - The apostles and brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2 So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party (Hebrew believers) criticized him, saying, 3 “You went to the uncircumcised and ate with them!” [Israel was strictly separated from others, in order to birth Messiah, the “savior of the world” into a comparatively prepared nation.] 4 But Peter began to explain to them what had happened, 5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance [ekstasis - a displacement of the mind, state of ecstasy] and I saw a vision. There was something like a great sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners. It came down to me 6 and looking at it closely, I saw animals and beasts of prey, reptiles and birds of the air. 7 And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat.’ 8 But I said, ‘By no means, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth!’ 9 But the voice answered a second time from above saying, ‘What God has made clean, do not call common.’ 10 And this happened three times. And then “all” [hรกpas - from hรกma - all together, and pรกs - each, every – thus each and every one as a comprehensive unit] was drawn up again into heaven. 11 And look! At that very moment three men arrived at the house, who were sent to me from Caesarea. 12 And the Spirit told me to go with them. And to ask no questions and make no distinction. These six brothers as well, accompanied me, and we entered the man's house. 13 And he told us how he had seen the angel coming into his house and the angel said, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. 14 He will declare to you a message by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ [This was now the “good news for all” beginning to earnestly go out to the nations, called gentiles/non-hebrew.] 15 And even as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) fell upon them. Just as it had upon us at the beginning [Acts 2]. 16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 17 So then, if God gave the same gift to them, as he gave to us - when we believed in the Lord Jesus - who was I that I should stand in God's way?!” [An answer to the I.O./Israel only doctrine.] 18 When the brothers heard these things they fell silent, and they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also, God has granted repentance that leads to Life.”

19 Now in those days, those who were scattered because of the persecution that had risen after Stephen’s stoning, had traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the message to no one except to Jews/Hebrews. 20 But there were some, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who upon coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists (Greeks) also, preaching the Lord Jesus. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord. 22 The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, so they sent Barnabas to Antioch.

23 When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was happy, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose. 24 For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. 25 So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul/Paul. 26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church (the believers) and taught a great many people. And it was in Antioch that the followers [mathรฉtรฉs - learners, disciples, pupils] were first called Christians.

27 It was at about this time, that prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the civilized world (and the famine took place in the days of Claudius). 29 So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the believers living in Judea. 30 And they did so, sending it to the elders there by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 14:25-35

25 - Great crowds were still accompanying him, and he turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not love his own father and mother and spouse and children and brothers and sisters less, yes, and even their own life, than me, they will not be able to be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not bear their own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, whether they have enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, after you’ve laid a foundation but are not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock, 30 saying, ‘This one began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he’s able with ten thousand to meet the other who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 And if not, while the other is still a long way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. 33 So anyone who doesn’t renounce [apotassรณ - to set apart, take leave of, withdraw from] (able to let loose of) all that they have cannot be my disciple. (Still a believer, but not yet a disciple?) 34 “Salt is good. But if salt loses its saltiness, how can it be restored? 35 It’s then of no use, either for the soil or for the manure pile. It’s thrown out. Whoever who has ears to hear, let them hear.”

1 - Paul, Silas, and Timothy,

To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus.

3 We are indebted always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is good, because your faith is abundantly growing, and the love of each of you for one another is increasing. 4 And so we boast about you in the churches of God! For your steadfastness and faith during all your persecutions and afflictions which you are patiently enduring. 5 This is evidence that you are worthy of the kingdom of God, or you wouldn’t be suffering because of it —6 and indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you (reaping as sowing) 7 and you yourselves will repose with us in the revelation/revealing of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with his mighty angels. 8 In flaming fire, giving vengeance upon those not knowing God and not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 On that day they will suffer the penalty [dikรฉ - right as self-evident justice, the principle, a decision or its carrying out] of aionion (eonian) doom and ruin, away from the presence of the Lord, and the glory of his might (aionion)10 when he comes to be glorified in his followers, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony was believed. 11 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and may complete every good and every work of faith in you, by HiS power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and of the Lord Jesus.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 14:15-24

15 - When one of those reclining at table with Jesus heard his parable of the wedding banquet/reception, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!”16 And he said to him, “Yes! A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. 17 And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come. For everything is now ready!’ 18 But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go and see it.’ 19 And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go and examine them. Please have me excused.’ 20 And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’

21 So the servant came and reported this to his mister. Then the master of the house became angry and said, ‘Go out quickly to the streets, lanes and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’

22 And the servant came back and said, ‘Sir, what you commanded (instructed) has been done, and still there is room!’ 23 And the mister said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my banquet may be filled. 24 For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste of this banquet.’” (Mt.25:1-13! 15 - In conclusion, see that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another, and to everyone. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances. For these are the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Don’t quench/deny the Spirit(/Presence of God). 20 Don’t despise prophecy. 21 But test everything. Hold fast to what is good. 22 And abstain from every form of evil.

23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and complete your spirit and soul/psyche and body blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful. He will surely do it.

25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us.

26 Greet all with a holy kiss.

27 I put you under oath before the Lord to have this letter read to all.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Psalm 90 — What iS God’s Wrath?

A Prayer of Moses a Man of God

With Word Insights [facts] (thoughts)

1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.

2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and world, from age to ages you are God. 3 You return man to dust and say, “Go back! Return, O children of dust!”

4 A thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it has gone by, or as a watch in the night.

5 Swept away, like but a dream. Like herbs that grow up in the morning!

6 In the morning it flourishes and blooms. In the evening it fades and withers.

7 For we are spent and brought to an end by your anger [aph - a nostril, nose, face, anger, from anaph - to be angry (this feels different to me that aph be from anaph๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผ‍♀️lol.. like ‘held back’ is the sense I’m getting]. By your wrath [chemah - heat, from yacham - to be hot, to conceive (be in heat๐Ÿฅด He cannot help but breathe out the rescue/remedy!) By your wrath (dust to dust) we are dismayed [bahal - disturbed, terrified] (consumed).

8 You have set “what is done/what we do and what it brings” [word is avon] before you, our secrets in the bright radiance of your presence.

9 All our days pass away under your wrath (a slow fading.. a slow burn/gehenna - “THE” crucible, laver, sieve. The dis-ease is part of the cure. God is 200% (oops freudian slip) unfettered Genius). Our years end on a sigh.

10 The are seventy, or if by reason of strength eighty (or more!) yet their span is but toil and trouble. They are soon gone, and we fly away [uwph - brandish, wave].

11 Who considers [yada - knows, understands] the power of your anger? For as the fear [yirah - awesome, extremely, fearing, reverence] is your wrath [enbrah - overflow ‘from a region’ from abar - alienate]?

12 So teach us to count (make count) our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

13 Return, O Lord! How long? Have pity on your servants!

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days!

15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted [anah - bowed down afflicted, defiled] us (“HE [who “iS Life”] has subjected all to disobedience/straying/imPerfection, that he may have/exercise mercy upon aLL” [pas - every, all, the whole] Romans 11:32). Make us rejoice, for as many years as (wAy longer than) we have seen evil [ra'- adversity, bad, evil].

16 Let your work be seen by your servants, and your glory to the children.

17 Let the favor [noam - delightfulness, pleasantness, beauty] of the LORD our God be upon us! And establish (ye) the work of our hands - upon us [al - upon, above, over (what we do and what it brings, imperfect = entropy. Wrath, cause and effect]. Yes, establish [kun - make firm] the work of our hands!

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 14:7-14

7 - Jesus told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor he said, 8 “When you’re invited by someone to a wedding feast, don’t go and sit in one of the seats of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited, 9 and you be embarrassed when you are asked to sit somewhere else. 10 But when you’re invited, go sit in the lower, more humble place! Then when your host comes, he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. 11 For everyone who exalts theirself will be humbled, and they who humble theirself will be lifted up.”

12 Then he said to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, don’t just invite your friends or your brethren/siblings and relatives and wealthy neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,14 and you will be blessed. Because they cannot repay you. And then you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.” [During the wedding banquet/reception๐Ÿ—️ of the ten bridesmaid’s parable, Mt.25:1-13.]

                ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:1-14 ~

1 - Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers and sisters, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. (๐Ÿค”Sneakily!) 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come suddenly upon them as labor pains come upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, that the day surprise you. 5 For you are children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake, and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk during the night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the protecting breastplate of faith and love. And for a helmet the hope [elpis - expectation!] of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath (dust to dust/gone or the fiery judgments which are all earthly, even during the millennium after “the” millennium, Rev.20:7-10) but to obtain salvation [sรณtรฉria - welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation, safety] through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10 Who died for us so that whether we may watch or sleep we will live with him! 11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

12 We ask you, brothers and sisters, to respect those who labor among you and are leaders in the Lord, teaching and counseling you. 13 And so esteem them very highly in love because of their work. And be at peace among yourselves. 14 And we urge you to admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with all.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 13:31-14:6

31 - Right then some of the Pharisee party came and said to Jesus, “Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.” 32 And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course. 33 Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow, and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’ 34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! (None of us are, until God calls, Jn.6:44.) 35 Behold, your house is left behind. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

14 One Sabbath, when he went to dine at the house of a ruler of the Pharisees, they were watching him carefully. 2 And behold, there was a man there who had dropsy [hudrรณpikos - edema, a disease produced by the accumulation of water in various parts of the body; very distressing, and commonly incurable; notice how Luke the (greek) doctor uses the name of the illness]. 3 And Jesus responded to the lawyers and Pharisees (were they testing him?) saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?” 4 But they remained silent. Then he healed him and sent him on his way. 5 And he said to them, “Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?” 6 And they couldn’t give an answer.

9 - Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, 10 for that indeed is what you are doing with all the brothers and sisters throughout Macedonia. And we urge you to do this more and more, 11 and to live quietly, minding your own affairs. And working with your own hands, as we instructed you, 12 so you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.

13 And we don’t want you to be uninformed about those who are asleep (in death) that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope [elpis - expectation] (for the dead, not having heard the “good news for all). 14 For through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For we who are alive - who are left until his coming - will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. This we declare to you, by a word from the Lord.

17 Then we who are alive to his coming, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet him, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. (Zech.14:4?)

                paraphrased study

9 - If anyone has an ear, let them hear. 10 If anyone into (or taking?) captivity, to captivity they go. if anyone with the sword slays (usually translated, is slain [apokteinรณ or apoktennรณ: to kill, slay]) with the sword must they be slain. (Or slay?) Here is a call for - the endurance and faith - of the saints/believers.

11 Then I (John) saw another beast rising out of the earth. (A difference, the huge beast, vs.1, rose up out of the sea {of humanity}. These two are integral to late days prophecy {additionally} evidenced by the angel in chapter ten - who had a ‘little scroll’ in his hands, and was standing with one foot on land and one foot on the sea.) (This littler beast, surely is essentially a modern, larger scope fulfillment of the “little horn” of Daniel’s prophecy which came out of a cluster of horns, and as it grew, it uprooted three of the other horns around it, Dn.7:8 and 8:9, Rev.12:14?) This one has two horns like a lamb but it (ends up?) speaking like a dragon. 12 It (also ends up) exercising all the authority of the first beast - in its presence (the little beast will unlawfully step into the prime horn/seat of the huge many headed geopolitical beast/entity/institution? A bit after the half point of a lauded treaty/league established after a crises which just happens to consolidate powers. But which treaty, alas, will only last seven years, and will be broken, in the middle, against Israel by “taking away or removing” their “perpetual sacrifices” ..of prayers, etc, oR place of, Dn.12:11-12 w/Lk.19:41,44 and 1Cor.3:16.)

This (smaller, second) beast makes the earth and its inhabitants worship (be in allegiance to?) the first (larger) beast, whose mortal wound was healed. (The last days version/fulfillment, like yesteryear’s, was, was not, then was again.) 13 It (a two horned office) performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven/sky, to earth in the sight of, and presence of mankind. (This fiery event pinpoints/ed an office, not yet an individual.)

18 - Jesus said, “What is the kingdom of God like? To what should I compare it? 19 It’s like a grain of mustard seed that a man sows in his garden, and it grows and becomes like a tree, so birds of the air come and made nests in its branches.”

20 And again he said, “To what should I compare the kingdom of God? 21 It’s like leaven which a woman takes and works into three measures of flour, until all is leavened.” (1Cor.15:22-24,28 - THREE harvests, barley, wheat, grape-Rev.21:5 greek “pas” = all. “Things” was inserted at translation.)

22 He went on his way toward Jerusalem, teaching through towns and villages. 23 And someone said to him, “Lord, are those being saved few?”

[       oligoi      hoi     sลzomenoi

[are] few     those   being saved?]

And he answered, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, seek to enter and are not be able to. 25 When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Open to us,’ then he will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’ [THIS is at his return. The door is to “the” millennium (and serving called reigning, during). It is not a forever door closed to Life! The root word of logic is logos.] 26 Then you will say, ‘But we ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets!’ 27 But he will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from (where you’re coming from?) Depart from me, all workers (and supporters?) of unrighteousness [adikia - injustice, unrighteousness].’ 28 In that place (during GWT judgment ‘day’, initiaLLy) there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast outside (being in the inner, outside of the Light darkness). 29 And people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and will recline at table in the kingdom of God. 30 But, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”

That you abstain from sexual immorality, 4 that each of you know how to control their own body in holiness and honor, 5 not in the passion of lust like Gentiles who do not know God. 6 That no one transgress and wrong [pleonekteรณ - take advantage of, overreach, defraud] (seduce) in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. 7 For God has not called us for impurity, but for holiness. Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 13:10-17

10 - Jesus was speaking in one of the Hebrew/Jewish meeting places on the Sabbath. 11 And he saw there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen long years. She was bent over and couldn’t straighten herself. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” 13 Then he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. 14 But the leader/authority of the meeting place, became indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. So he said to the people, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, not on the Sabbath day!”

15 But Jesus said to him, “You faker! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water? 16 And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed on the Sabbath?” 17 As he said these things, all who were against him were put to shame, but the people were rejoicing at the glorious things that were being done by him.

                ~ 1 Thessalonians 3:1-18 ~

(Having been chased out of Thessalonica by authorities, eager to hear how the Thessalonian believers were doing since then..) 1 - When we (Paul, Silas, Timothy and others) could bear it no longer, we were willing to be left behind at Athens, 2 and sent Timothy, our brother and coworker in the gospel of Christ, to be sure you were established in your faith, 3 that no one was deterred by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this. 4 For when we were with you, we kept telling you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction, just as it has come to pass, and just as you know. 5 For this reason, when I could wait no longer, I sent to learn about your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and our labor would be in vain.

6 But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us the good news of your faith and love and reported that you always remember us kindly and long to see us, as we long to see you— 7 for this reason, brethren (brothers and sisters) in all our distress and affliction, we have been comforted about your faith. 8 For now we are gifted, if you are standing fast in the Lord. 9 For what thanksgiving can we return to God, for all the joy that we feel about you before our God? 10 And as we pray most earnestly night and day that we may see you face to face and supply whatever is lacking in your faith [pistis - faith, belief, trust, confidence, persuasion, fidelity, faithfulness].

11 Now we pray our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, will direct our way to you. 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you. (On the right path/the way? Love will be increasing in the soul/heart/psyche. Today seems to beca day of division, but it should be superficial and not in the heart.) 13 So that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all the holy ones.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 13:1-9

1 - There were some there who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And he said to them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you, but unless you repent, you will all perish likewise. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them, do you think they were worse offenders than all others living in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you, but unless you repent, you will likewise perish.” (70 CE, was likewise. The likewise was not afterlife living forever while being burned alive for all infinity.)

6 And he told this parable, “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it but he found none. 7 And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ 8 And the vine tender said him, ‘Sir, let it remain this year also, and I will I dig around it and will fertilize/feed it. 9 Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good, but if not, we can cut it down then.’” (And what sort of fire would it be thrown to? A bonfire, not a neverending ‘hell’. The “at his coming” parable of the wheat and tare gatherings, Mt.13:30 is also Rev.16:13-16, the gathering (the still tares) to Armageddon battle, Is.24:20, 2Thes.1:7-8 — his ‘wrath’ being cause and effect, consequences of which dust to dust is as well, Ps.90:3,5-7.)

14 - For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of the churches [ekklฤ“sรญa - from ek - out from and to, and kalรฉล - to call – properly, people called - out from - the world - and - to God, the outcome being the mystical body of Christ (as confused as most/all? of it is) called ‘the church’/churches] of God in Christ Jesus, that are in Judea. For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from their own countrymen 15 (the leaders) who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all mankind 16 by hindering us from speaking to the nations that they might be saved (an answer to the IO ‘Israel only’ belief) so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. But wrath is coming upon them at last! (This slow fade/gehenna flaring up into fiery consequences/smaller scope fulfillment. Full scope at the, done by man, apocalypse - different scopes being what’s called parallelism of prophecy.)

17 But since we were torn away from you, brothers, for a short while, in person but not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face. 18 We have wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us.19 For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? 20 For you (as believers) are our glory and joy.

WeekLy BooK oF Acts 10 34-48

 A paraphrased study

       ~~ ~~

(Peter was summoned by a Roman centurion, and was now with him and his family and friends.) 34 - So Peter began to speak and said, “Truly I see that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation anyone who reveres him and does what is right is acceptable to him. 36 As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ - he is Lord of all - 37 you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea. It began from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed, 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) and with power. How he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.

Then they put him to death by hanging him on a tree, 40 but God raised him up on the third day and made him to appear, 41 not to all the people, but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses. We ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he instructed us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and of the dead. 43 To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

44 While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening. 45 And the believers from among the Hebrew believers who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even upon Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, 47 “Can anyone disagree with water baptizing of these people? For they have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” 48 And he instructed them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay with them for some days.

No I tell you, but rather division, the choosing of sides. 52 From now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. 53 There will be father against son, son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 54 When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say, ‘A shower’s coming.’ And so it does. 55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and so it is. 56 You are actors. You know how to read earth and sky (weather). Why do you not know how to read the times?” (Divided we fall.) 57 “And why do you not judge for yourselves? 58 As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make every effort to be released, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison. 59 I tell you, you will not get out until the last penny is handed over.”

8 - We cared so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our own lives as well. That is how dearly loved you have become to us. 9 For you remember, brothers and sisters, our labor and toil. We worked night and day that we might not be a burden to any, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. 10 You are witnesses, and God also, of how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct with you. 11 For you know how, like a father with his children, 12 we taught each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God. It is he who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.
13 We also thank God always, that when you received the message of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word and promise of men, but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 12:41-48

41 - Peter asked Jesus, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us - or for everyone?” (To stay ready/prepared.) 42 And the Lord said, “Who then is a faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give to the household their portion of food at the proper time? 43 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 44 Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. 45 But if that servant says to theirself, ‘My master is delayed in coming,’ and begins to beat the other servants” (even with words?) “and to eat and drink and get drunk” (or senseless?) 46 the master of that servant will come on a day they are not waiting and expecting, and at an hour they are not aware of, and will cut him off” (from the flock) “and put him with the unfaithful. 47 And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating” (self inflicted spiritually, or experience cause and effect results and consequences. Unless we think God will be flogging people. What actually works, flogging or remorse?) 48 “But the one who didn’t know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, more will be required, and from those entrusted with much, more will be expected from them.”

                ~ 1 Thessalonians 1:8-2:7 ~

8 - For not only has the message and news of the Lord been told by you in Macedonia and Achaia, but news of your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so we need not say anything. 9 For they are reporting to us concerning the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God. 10 And are now waiting for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath that is coming. (Pre 70 CE from the razing of Jerusalem that occurred in 70 CE - Rev.12:(5)6 - or, later from the “bowls” of Revelation which occur in the sounding of the 7th trumpet. Ps.90:3,5-7—his ‘wrath’ = dust to dust, entropy.)

2 For you yourselves know, brethren, how our coming to you was not in vain. 2 But, as you know, though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict. (The Philippian authorities having followed them to Thessalonica.) 3 For our appeal does not spring from error, or impurity, or any attempt to deceive. 4 But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God. To please the one who tests the heart. 5 For we never came with words of flattery, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is our witness. 6 Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ. 7 But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her very own children.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 12:22-40

22 - Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you, don’t be anxious about your life, what you will eat, or what you will wear. 23 For life is much more than food, and clothing. 24 Consider the ravens, they don’t sow, neither do they reap. They have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds of the air! 25 And which of you, by worrying, can add a single hour to your  life? 26 If then you’re not able to do such as that, why do you worry about the rest? 27 Consider the flowers, the lilies of the field. They don’t toil, nor do they spin. But I tell you, even Solomon in all of his glory wasn’t clothed like one of them. 28 And if God so clothes the grass, which is alive today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!” (I read somewhere that grass was burned as fuel, but I think this also refers to entropy, this fading away, this slow gehenna ..that at times flares up into earthly judgments of wars, aka, results. Dust to dust, called God’s wrath. Cause and effect, this unavoidable, all important contrast, the “valley of the shadow of death”, a sliw burning gehenna.) 29 “And don’t seek what you are to eat, and what you are to drink, and don’t fret or be worried. 30 For all the nations of the world seek after these things. And your Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek God’s kingdom, and then these things will be added to you as well! 32 Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give to you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions! And give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that won’t grow old. And with treasure stored in the heavens that doesn’t fade away. And no thief gets to, and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, is where your heart will be also.

35 Stay dressed and ready for action. And keep your lamps burning. 36 Be like those who are waiting for their master/mister to come home from the wedding feast. That they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he arrives. Truly, I tell you, he will dress himself for service and have them sit at table, and he will come and serve them. 38 If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants! 39 But know this, that if the master [oikodespotรฉs - From oikos and despotes - a head of a family -- goodman of the house, householder, head] of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would be watching and not neglecting his house to be broken into [diorussรณ - dug through, broken through]. 40 You also must be ready [hetoimos - prepared, ready because prepared, ready to meet the opportunity or challenge at hand, ready because the necessary preparations are done] for the Son of Man comes at an hour you do not suppose [dokรฉล – properly - suppose, forming an opinion, a personal judgment, estimate, a subjective mental estimate or opinion about a matter].” (He comes at an hour we do not suppose.)

2 We give thanks to God always for all of you. Always mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before God our Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your steadfastness of expectation (translated hope) [but is elpis - expectation] in our Lord Jesus. 4 For we know, brothers and sisters, dearly beloved of God, that he has chosen you 5 because of how our message [euaggelion - good news, the good news of the coming of the Messiah] came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) with full assurance. You know what kind of people we proved to be among you for your sake. 6 And so you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in the midst of much trouble, but with joy of the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) 7 so that you (in turn) became an example to all the believers in both Macedonia and in Achaia.

13 - Someone in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14 But Jesus said, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?” 15 And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life doesn’t consist in the abundance of his possessions.” 16 So he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced a great harvest, 17 and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? For I have nowhere to store my crops.’ 18 And he said to himself, ‘I will do this, I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones! And so shall I store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to myself, ‘Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years. Relax, eat, drink, and be merry.’ 20 But then God said to him, ‘Fool! This very night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So is anyone who lays up treasure for theirself but is not rich toward God.”

                ~ James 5:9-20 ~

9 - Don’t grumble against one another, brethren, (brothers and sisters) so you may not be judged, for behold! The Judge is standing at the door. 10 As an example of suffering and patience think of the prophets who spoke in the name of the LORD. 11 And we consider those blessed who steadfastly endured. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

12 But above all, my brethren, don’t swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let them pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let them sing praises. 14 Is any among you sick? Let them call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise them up. And if they have committed sins, they will be forgiven.16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain upon the earth. (A 3.5) 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore fruit.

19 My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings them back, 20 know that whoever brings back a sinner from their wandering, will save their souL from-death, and covers a multitude of sins.

        WeeKly BooK oF Revelation

                paraphrased study

When we left off last week, the dragon was raging, now to be more attentively upon “the faith’s other children” - which, surely(?) brings us to Revelation 16’s gathering to Armageddon battle (Mt.13:30). End of chapter 12. End of one of three tellings of the vision. Chapter twelve being the middle telling. “..And the dragon stood on the sand of the sea shore”.. How he turns rage on Israel and takes the world to Armageddon brings us to chapter 13.

13:1 - And I saw a (many headed geopolitical) beast (entity, institution) rising up, out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on the horns of it, and upon the heads of it, names of blasphemy [blasphรฉmia - slander]. 2 And the beast that I [John] saw was like a leopard, but with feet like a bear's, and its mouth, like a lion's mouth. (All predators.) And the dragon gave to it, his power and his throne and gave it great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound was healed. (And it comes about that) the whole world is filled with wonder [thaumazรณ - marvel, wonder, admiration] and will follow after the beast. 4 And (so) they revered the dragon, who had given the authority to the beast, and they revered the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? And who can make war against it?” (“And they shall say ‘Peace! Peace!’” But *alas! Dan.12:11 and 2:43; Dan.12:11-12 w/ Lk.19:41-44 and 1Cor.3:16.)

5 And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and slanderous/blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. (This is the second 42 months/3.5 years of the lauded peace [covenant, treaty, league] that *alas, will only last seven years, and will be broken in the middle against Israel - Rev.12:17.) 6 It opened its mouth to utter slanders against God, blaspheming his name and his tabernacle, and those tabernacling in heaven. [Angels.] 7 Also it was allowed to make war upon the saints [believers/followers] and to conquer them. And authority was given to it over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 And all who dwell upon earth will revere it, everyone whose name has not been written in the book of life of the lamb who was slain from the founding [katabolรฉ - laying down] of the world [kosmos - order, the world, a properly ordered system, universe, creation]. (Why was that the remedy? The slain lamb, remedy of what God knew was bound to occur.. his having allowed that man and angel be thinking, reasoning beings, which includes having some power of choice. God surely(!?) does not need to be appeased, though think of the guiltiest of guilty consciences.. At the same time, yes Jesus paid - in biblical manner of speaking - our debt to universal society, and the remedy must be strong enough to convince all, from the most ‘innocent’ among us, to the most heartless and cruel. The penalty/result of straying from God who is Life, is death, this entropy and passing away. But “death could not hold him” for he is and was Perfect, the only straight out from God one. Entering death he had the key to unlock death and so set the captives (all of us) free. Important note - The initiaL conditions of some upon GWT judgment ‘day’ is portrayed in the rich man and Lazarus parable, and in the outside of the vision narrative of Rev.22.)

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 12:1-12

1 - Meanwhile, when so many had gathered, they were trampling one another, he began, first, to say to his disciples, “Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy [hypokrisแธ—s - literally - acting under a mask]. 2 Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on housetops. (Figures of speech.) 4 “I tell you, my friends (now crowd) do not fear those who kill the body, (pharisees/leaders) and after that have nothing more they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear (you pharisees) fear he who, after the destruction/ruin, has authority to cast into Gehenna [from gay - valley, and Hinnom - Gehenna] (armageddon, first one coming in 70 CE). Yes, I tell you, fear him! 6 BecauSe, are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not oNe of them is forgotten before God! 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not (crowd) you are of more value than many sparrows.

8 “And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God, 9 but the one who denies me before men, will be denied before the angels of God. (Does noT say ‘forever and ever’.) 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one blaspheming against the Holy Spirit(/Presence) of God is not forgiven. 11 Then when they bring you before the councils and rulers and the authorities, don’t be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, 12 for the Holy Spirit(/Presence of God) will teach you in that very hour what you should say.”

1 - Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you! 2 For your riches will decay and your garments will be moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver will corrode, and their corrosion will be testimony against you which will consume your flesh (nature/self first carnal nature) liKe fire you have stored up for the last time. 4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you! And the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the LORD of hosts. 5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts for a day of butchery. 6 You have condemned and murdered the righteous person, who doesn’t (even) resist you. (Will reap what you sow.. Your deeds will return on your own heads - Obadiah 1:15.)

(Harvests, 1Cor.15:22-24,28 w/ Mt.13:33, key word 3 ..harvests). 8 You also, be patient. Strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draws near.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 11:37-54

37 - While Jesus was still speaking, a Pharisee invited him to dine with him at his house, so he went in and reclined at table. 38 The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not wash before the meal. (A Pharisee traditional, ritual washing.) 39 So Jesus said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside is full of greed and wickedness. 40 You unthinking! Didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also? 41 But if you give as alms those things that are within, then everything outside is clean also. 42 But woe to you Pharisees, for you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the rest. 43 Woe to you Pharisees, for you love the best seats in the synagogue and greetings in the marketplace. 44 Woe to you, for you are like unmarked graves, which people walk over without knowing it.”

45 One of the scribes (lawyers) answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.” 46 And he said, “Woe to you lawyers also, for you load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves don’t lift the burdens with even one of your fingers. 47 Woe to you, for you build the tombs of the prophets, whom your fathers killed. 48 So you are witnesses and consent to those killings, and so you build their tombs. 49 So also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’ 50 so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation. (They must have done away with a Zechariah..? Or is this the prophet?) 52 Woe to you scribes, for you have taken away the key to knowledge. You don’t enter yourselves, and you block the way for those who are entering.”

53 And as he was leaving, the scribes and Pharisees began to pressure him, provoking him to speak about many things, 54 for they were trying to catch him in something he might say.

                ~ James 4:12-17 -

12 - There is only one lawgiver. One judge. He (only) who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you? Who judges your neighbor?

13 And you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a small time and then vanishes. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is not good! 17 So whoever knows the right to do and fails to do it, for them it is sin [hamartia - missing the mark].

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 11:29-36

(As some were saying he was able to cast out demons by the ruler of demons, and others were asking him for a sign, and) 29 - As the crowd of people was increasing, Jesus said, “This generation is a troublesome generation. It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of man be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and give judgment against them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and look, something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and give judgment concerning them, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and look, something greater than Jonah is here.

33 “No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a bowl, but they put it on a lampstand, so those who enter may see by its light. 34 The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your body will be full of darkness. 35 Therefore be careful, lest the light that’s in you be actually darkness, and not light. 36 And if your whole body is full of light, having no dark part, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its radiance gives light.”

     (In the Order Believed Written)

                ~ James 4:7-11 ~

7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners! [Harmatoi - you missing the mark.] Purify your hearts, you people who can't make up your mind! 9 Grieve, mourn, and weep. Turn your laughter to mourning, and your joy to gloom. (Heartfelt remorse for any evils done and even flaws.) 10 Humble yourselves before the LORD, and he will lift you up [hupsoรณ - to lift or raise up, uplift, lift on high, exalt] (especially during his long second advent). 11 Don’T speak evil against one another, brethren/brothers and sisters. The one who speaks against a brother or sister or judges his brother or sister, speaks evil against the truth and judges the truth. But if you judge the truth, you’re then not a doer of truth, but a judge. (Have unlawfully made yourself to be judge.)
