Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 19:29-40

29 - When Jesus drew near to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, and was at the grove called Mount of Olives, across the valley from Jerusalem, he sent two of the disciples, 30 saying, “Go into the village nearby, when you enter you’ll find a colt tied, on which no one has yet rode. Untie it and bring it here. 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying the colt?’ tell them, ‘The Lord has need of it.’” 32 So those who were sent went and found all just as he had said. 33 And as they were untying the colt, its owners said, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34 And they said, “The Lord has need of it.” 35 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on it, they had Jesus sit upon it. 36 And as he rode along, the people spread their cloaks on the road. 37 As he was drawing near, down from the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude accompanying began to rejoice and to praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had been seeing. 38 And they cried out, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD! Peace in heaven (Rev.12:7-8) and glory in the highest!” 39 But some Pharisees also in the crowd, and nearby to him, said, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40 But he answered, “I tell you, if they were silent, the very stones would be crying out.”

                ~ Galatians 2:6-10 ~

6 - And from those who seemed to be influential, though that makes no difference to me (Paul). For God does not show partiality and favoritism. Those, I say, who seemed influential, added nothing to me. 7 On the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel TO the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel TO the circumcised 8 - for he who worked through Peter for his apostleship to the circumcised, worked also through me for mine (my apostleship) to the Gentiles. 9 And when James, Peter and John, who are esteemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and I. And agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised. (To the Hebrews/Jews/Israel).10 Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I am always eager to do. (Paul too, was a Hebrew/Jew - the bible has a prophecy, because Israel didn’t recognize the coming of their Messiah, one result would be they would become known by a “byword and slang/slander”. But woe to anyone who touches them, or like in ancient days when Edom(?) rejoiced at their adversity when enemies defeated them. ..Departing from God, his Spirit/Presence as a shield would fade. And the rebel angels, now spirits, entities, demons “having left their place”/strayed, reaLLy haTe Israel. Christians too. And, all of us actually.)

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 19:11-28

11 - While the crowd of people were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.12 He said to them (a parable) “A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and then to return. 13 Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten talents/coins, and told them, ‘Engage in business until I come.’ 14 But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’ 15 When he returned, having received the kingdom, he sent for the ones to whom he had given the coins, that he might know what they had gained in doing business. 16 The first came, saying, ‘Lord, your coin has made ten coins more.’ 17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a little, you shall have reign [exousia - delegated empowerment operating in a designated jurisdiction] over ten cities.’ 18 And the second came, saying, ‘Lord, your coin has made five coins.’ 19 And he said to him, ‘You shall be over five cities.’ 20 Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is the talent you gave me. I kept it laid away in a handkerchief, 21 for I was afraid of you, because you are a harsh man. You take up what you didn’t place, and reap what you didn’t sow.’ 22 And the businessman said to him, ‘I will judge you by your own words, you troublesome [ponΓ©ros - toilsome, bad] worker, you knew I’m a harsh (harsh reality) man, taking what I didn’t place and reaping what I didn’t sow? 23 Why then didn’t you not put the talent to usury (use) and at my coming, I might have collected it with interest?’ 24 And he said to those who were nearby, ‘Take the coin from him, and give it to the one who has the ten.’ 25 And they said, ‘But lord, he has ten already!’ 26 ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given. But from the one who hasn’t, even what they think they have will be taken away. 27 But as for these enemies of mine, who don’t want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me.’” (Daniel 7:9 - “And the ancient of days took his seat” ..“All of life is a stage” - Shakespeare. (Mt.13:30 gathering of tares, is Rev.16:13-16, the gathering to Armageddon battle.)

28 And when he had said these things, Jesus went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

                ~ Galatians 2:1-5 ~

1 - Then after fourteen years I (Paul) went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with us. 2 I went up because of a revelation and set before them (though privately before those who have been deemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles. This was in order to be sure I was not running or had not run in vain. 3 But even Titus, who was with me, was not forced to be circumcised, though he was a Greek (thus never circumcised). 4 False brothers secretly came in to spy out our freedom we have in Christ Jesus, so they might bring us into slavery - 5 to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment. So the truth of the gospel (glad tidings) might be preserved for you.

        WeeKly BooK oF Revelation

                paraphrased study

1 - Then I looked - and behold - on Mount Zion stood the Lamb. And with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. (It’s time - Mt.23:39, Ro.11:15, Rev.7:9,4.) (But Mt.Zion is the spiritual/heavenly, Mt.of Olives is the literal/earthly.) 2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the sound of rushing waters and of loud thunder. And like the sound of harpists playing on their harps. 3 And they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. No one could learn that song except the 144,000 having been redeemed from the earth. 4 These who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins. (Truth virgins not corrupted by ancient goddess based beliefs?) Who follow the Lamb wherever he goes, having been redeemed out from men as firstfruits for God and the Lamb, 5 and in their mouth no lie was found, for they are blameless.

6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead. He had the glad tidings to proclaim to those who dwell upon earth, to every nation, tribe, language and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear/revere God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment (of the world, this wrong way that can never work) has come, and worship he, who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Mark 10:46-52

46 - And they came to Jericho. And as they were leaving Jericho with a great crowd along with them, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. 47 And when he heard the commotion, and learned that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 And many scolded him, telling him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him over here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up, he’s calling for you.” 50 And throwing off his cloak, Bartimaeus sprang up and went to Jesus.

51 And Jesus said to him, “What is it you want me to do for you?” And he said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” 52 And Jesus said, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” And immediately his sight was restored, he could see, and he joined the crowd following Jesus.

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 18:18-34

18 - And a ruler came who asked Jesus, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit enduring life?” 19 And Jesus answered, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. 20 You know the commandments, ‘don’t commit adultery, don’t murder, don’t steal, don’t bear false witness, honor your father and mother.’” 21 And the man said, “I have kept all these from my youth.” 22 After hearing this, Jesus said, “One thing you still lack. Sell all you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven, and come, follow me.” 23 Then the man became sad, for he was very wealthy. 24 Seeing this, Jesus said, “How difficult it is for those who have riches, to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” 27 And he said, “The things that are impossible with man, is possible with God.” 28 Then Peter said, “We have left our homes to follow you.”29 And Jesus said, “Truly, I tell you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers, sisters, parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30 who will not receive many times more - in this time - and in the age to come enduring life.”

31 Then taking the twelve, he said to them, “We’re going up to Jerusalem, and everything that’s written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be done. 32 He will be delivered over to the Gentiles and be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon. 33 And after they flog him, they will kill him. And the third day he will rise.” 34 But they understood none of these things. It was all hidden from them. They did not grasp what he was saying.

13 - For you’ve heard of my (Paul’s) former life in Judaism, how I violently persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism faster than many of my age, as I was very zealous for the traditions of the fathers. 15 But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, 16 was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the nations/gentiles, I didn’t right away consult with anyone. 17 Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and then I returned again to Damascus.

18 Then after three years had passed, I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas (Peter) and I remained with him fifteen days. 19 But I saw none of the other apostles, except James the Lord's brother. (Writer of the letter from James.)

Ps.100:4 ~ Enter into his gates (presence) with thanksgiving! And enter his courts with praise! Give thanks to him, and bless his name!

Heb.6:18 ..It is impossible for God to lie. So we have strong encouragement [paraklΓ©sis - a calling to one's aid, comfort, consolation, encouragement] to take firm hold of the expectation set before us.

Mt.25:10, Rev.20:6-15, but insert “by then” into vs.15.

1Cor.15:22-24,28 w/ Mt.13:33, key word 3; three harvests.

i.e. Serving called reigning - crowns of Life ..not metal.

Hebrews 4:16 ~ So let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive [lambanΓ³ - to take, receive] mercy, and find [heuriskΓ³ - find, learn, discover, especially after searching] grace [charis - grace, kindness, favor] for timely help [boΓ©theia - a technical term of nautical language, very needed aid, help, assistance].

Heb.4:10-11 ~ 10 For they that enter into his rest, also have ceased from their own works (of earning life) as God rested from his works. Let us therefore, labor (pun intended?) to enter into that rest. Lest any fall through unbelief.

Col.2:16,17 ~ Let there be no judging in regard to food, or in regard to drink, or in regard to a feast, or a New Moon, or Sabbaths, for these are a but shadow of the things to come, but the body (reality) that casts the shadow is Jesus. (But a shadow of the real, and the principle.)

Today’s GospeL Verses ~ Luke 18:9-17

9 - Jesus told a parable to some who trusted in theirself that they were righteous, and they treated others with contempt,. 10 He said, “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one was a Pharisee and the other was a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee, who was standing off by himself, prayed ‘God, I thank you that I’m not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I have.’ 13 But the tax collector, who was standing far off, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified. But not the other, for everyone who exalts theirself will be humbled, and the one who humbles theirself will be exalted.”

15 Many people were bringing even their infants to him that he might touch and bless them. And when the disciples saw it, they scolded them. 16 But Jesus called them all to him, and said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For to such belongs the kingdom of God.

17 Truly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive the kingdom of God like a small child cannot enter it.”

                ~ Galatians 1:6-12 ~

6 - I (Paul) am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the LORD who called you into the grace of Christ. And you’re turning to a different gospel! 7 Not that there is another gospel, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel/good news of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel - contrary - to (not agreeing with) the one we preached to you, that one will be accursed. (As cause and effect, nicknamed God’s wrath/greek-orge/passion/Love!) 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, they are accursed. 10 For am I looking for the approval of man? (The world/listening to the world of one’s time.) Or the approval of God? Am I trying to please man? (To live up to the world? And the world’s voice.) If I were still trying to please man/the world, I would not be a servant of Christ!

11 For I would have you know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel that was preached by me is not a man's gospel. 12 For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus, the Christ.
